HoYoverse announced the ZZZ 2.8 release date in the RPG’s latest livestream, alongside the banner schedule. It’s a pretty packed lineup this time, too. Not only is Billy getting a much-needed upgrade as Starlight – Billy, but there’s a new ice anomaly agent as well. The reruns this time are Lucia and Orphie and Magus. If you missed out on Komano Manato before, he’s starring as one of the A-rank agents again as well.
Below, we list when ZZZ 2.8 releases and who you can expect in the 2.8 version’s banner lineups.
ZZZ 2.8 release date
ZZZ 2.8 goes live on May 6, 2026, or May 5 depending on your timezone. It’s the final chapter in Season 2 (the 2.x patch series, in other words), and it’ll run for the usual six weeks, ending on June 16, 2026.
ZZZ 2.8 banners phase one – Promeia and Lucia
The ice anomaly agent Promeia makes her debut in the first round of banners, and Lucia is coming back again. Promeia causes Abloom damage like Vivian can and also has a feature that guarantees a perfect dodge under certain circumstances. If she’s paired with another anomaly agent or a support agent, the party’s Abloom damage increases. Whether she’ll replace Miyabi remains to be seen, though it seems like Promeia will fill a different kind of anomaly role and have a lane of her own.
Lucia is a premier Rupture support agent, so if you’re not running any rupture teams and don’t plan on changing that anytime soon, it’s best to skip her. If you’ve got your eye on Starlight – Billy, you don’t need Lucia for him, either, as his banner includes two rupture support units.

ZZZ 2.8 banners phase two – Orphie and Magus, Starlight – Billy
Billy’s revamped version, Starlight – Billy, headlines the second round of banners, which will go live on May 27, 2026. He’s an S-rank rupture agent who deals physical damage in bursts, the amount of which scales on his health like with all rupture agents. Starlight – Billy’s physical damage all counts as sheer damage, and he can even restore his own health at times. Orphie and Magus (one character, despite two names) is an aftershock attack agent who can pair with pretty much any support or stun agent quite well.
