ZZZ Yuzuha build and teams

Putting together a strong ZZZ Yuzuha build depends on the kind of team she’s working in, but on the bright side, she works in pretty much any kind of team combination. Just plan ahead before slotting her in. Yuzuha needs attack for her core passive to work, but Anomaly Mastery if you want her bonus ability to kick in, and that’s the one that functions best in Anomaly teams.

Our ZZZ Yuzuha build breaks down her best W-Engines and Drive Discs, and we’ve listed some Yuzuha team recommendations with stat priorities as well.

ZZZ Yuzuha build

ZZZ Yuzuha W-Engine

Yuzuha is a welcome case where her signature W-Engine, while good, isn’t essential for her kit to work. It’s called Metanukimorphosis, and it has energy regen as its secondary stat, while increasing Anomaly Mastery by 30 percent when the equipping character uses their EX Special. When the equipper deals Aftershock damage, the party’s Anomaly Proficiency goes up by 60 for 40 seconds. That’s all exactly what Yuzuha needs, though it does limit her to functioning in Anomaly teams only. That’s not a bad thing. It just ignores her core passive.

For that, you need attack, and the A-rank Kaboom the Cannon is the best support Engine for the job – mainly because it’s the only one outside of Astra Yao’s signature that buffs attack. Kaboom the Cannon also has energy regen as its secondary stat, and when any teammate lands an attack, the party’s attack goes up by 2.5 percent for eight seconds, an effect that stacks up to four times.

Then there’s Weeping Cradle, which has PEN Ratio as its secondary. The passive effect increases energy regeneration while the equipping character is off-field, and when they land an attack, the party deals 10 percent more damage to the target for three seconds. The effect can increase up to 10 percent more.

Elsewhere among A-rank candidates is Unfettered Game Ball, another one with energy regen as its secondary stat. It also increases the party’s crit rate when the equipping character triggers an Anomaly effect, which Yuzuha will likely do quite often.

ZZZ Yuzuha Drive Discs

Yuzuha’s optimal Drive Disc sets are your standard choices for most support units. Astral Voice is, as ever, an excellent choice, both for the extra attack buff it gives the equipping character and the party-wide damage buffs.

  • Two-piece effect: Increases attack by 10 percent
  • Four-piece effect: Whenever any squad member enters the field using a Quick Assist, all squad members gain a stack of Astral, up to a maximum of three stacks, for 15 seconds. Each stack of Astral increases damage the character entering the field deals by eight percent

However, since Yuzuha’s off-field Aftershock damage relies on fairly consistent use of her EX Special, she benefits from having a fair amount of energy regeneration as well. Swing Jazz’s two-piece set is the best complement to Astral Voice, as it gives the equipper 20 percent extra energy regen.

However, if you’re struggling to get Yuzuha’s attack threshold, you may want to use two pieces of Hormone Punk instead, which gives her an additional 10 percent attack buff. On the other hand, if you need Anomaly Mastery, go for two pieces of Phaethon’s Melody, with its eight percent buff to that stat.

ZZZ Yuzuha stats

Yuzuha’s stat needs are similar to Lucy’s and Astra Yao’s, thanks to how her core passive works. When she activates the Tanuki Wish effect, the party’s attack increases by an amount equal to 40 percent of Yuzuha’s own, and the maximum buff at the passive’s highest level is 1,200 additional attack. To hit that, you’d need Yuzuha’s attack to be 3,000 (or higher, though there’s no benefit to going beyond 3,000).

Her bonus ability provides additional Anomaly buildup rate and damage for allies by 0.2 percent for every point of Anomaly Mastery she has over 100 to a maximum of 20 percent each. Getting the full effect of that requires a total Anomaly Mastery stat of 200. That’s a lot of stats to balance, though the bonus ability only matters if Yuzuha’s in an Anomaly team. If you’re using her for Aftershock damage or off-field attack buffs, don’t sweat it if this stat’s not high enough to max out the buff.

In general, your Drive Disc stats should be:

  • Slot 4: Attack
  • Slot 5: Attack
  • Slot 6: Anomaly Mastery

Hitting 3,000 attack is the most important, so keep Anomaly Proficiency and other good-to-haves, such as crit rate, crit damage, and PEN ratio, for substats.

ZZZ Yuzuha skill priority

Yuzuha is an unusual character in that her basic, special, and chain attacks are all important and have the potential to deal high damage, depending on how you use her. The most common role for Yuzuha is off-field, and if that’s how you’re using her, then you want to level her basic first, since her Aftershock damage counts as a basic attack. However, her EX Special packs a punch as well, so don’t neglect it either.

In short, the priority is:

  • Basic
  • Chain or EX Special
  • EX Special or Chain (depending on what you didn’t do for the second priority)
  • Assist
  • Dodge

ZZZ Yuzuha teams

Yuzuha is an exceptional support character for Anomaly teams, but her general attack buffs mean she works well in any party. Her EX Special’s Sweet Scare component matches damage dealt to the Anomaly type of whatever active character triggers the effect, which means Yuzuha can make Miyabi build ice anomaly more quickly, Jane Doe and Piper activate assault faster, and so on. Assault teams are the easiest way to get the full benefit of Yuzuha’s skill, since you don’t have to manage your rotation to keep the element types matched – it’s always physical in such a team – but again, she’s an excellent support for any Anomaly team.

An ideal team is:

Or you could go full premium with:

  • Miyabi
  • Yanagi or Burnice
  • Yuzuha

Since her off-field damage counts as Aftershock, she also works well with Solder 0 Anby, who benefits from her attack buffs. Pair the two of them with Pulchra or Trigger if you have them or Nicole if you don’t, as the latter’s defense reduction helps Anby deal even more damage.

What tier is Yuzuha in ZZZ?

Yuzuha belongs in ZZZ’s top tier for a lot of reasons, one of them being how scarce support units are. The other is that she works with both damage-dealing team types currently popular in ZZZ – standard ones that rely on attack and Anomaly teams. Her universal usefulness might change if more Rupture characters like Yixuan show up, but even then, the number of potential squad members she can support makes her worth keeping around. While Yuzuha does have high stat needs, she can also get by without her signature W-Engine just fine, so she’s comparatively easy to build.
