The trailer shows off some of the beautiful lush environments we’ll get to explore in the open world of Ascenders.
To mark the start of 2023, Legendary Foundry Games has released an environment trailer for Ascenders, an open-world action RPG.
The short but sweet new video showcases some of the game’s many beautiful environments we’ll get to explore. As a sword-wielding adventurer trudges through foliage that lights up in blue, we get to see a variety of different plants, both small and large, decorating the wonderful greenery present throughout this blockchain title’s diverse open world.
The Avalanche-based game was initially revealed back in February last year in a trailer that featured pre-alpha in-game footage. But watching trailers for this upcoming title isn’t the only thing you can do if you want to see more, as there’s already a combat demo you can play which you can download for Windows and Mac from the game’s official website. If you want to learn more about the full release, then there’s also a litepaper and a 36-page whitepaper you can read as well.
Inspired by EVE Online and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the third-person title is set to feature a decentralized dual-token economy that consists of NFT Lands. Initially scheduled to launch in Q4 of 2023, Ascenders is now slated to come out a quarter later, in Q1 2024. The studio working on it was established in 2021 and consists of “experienced crypto degen ninjas” but also veteran AAA game developers who have previously worked on titles such as GTA: San Andreas, GTA IV, The Lord of the Rings Online and more. In March last year, the company announced that they managed to successfully raise $6.4 million in a private funding round co-led by Paramount Capital, Merit Circle, Sino Global Capital and the infamous Three Arrows Capital.
