As Naoe and Yasuke’s investigation into the Shinbakufu agent known as the Wheel intensifies in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Yasuke is sent to meet up with Lady Oichi’s bodyguard, Kuma, somewhere in the Shimmering Fields of Omi.
However, you’re unlikely to have explored this part of the coast on your travels, and the information you have to go on is quite vague.
Here’s where to track down Kuma’s lookout to continue the Price of Rice mission in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
The Price of Rice Kuma Location
To track down the former rice farmer turned sumo wrestler turned bodyguard, Kuma, you’re only given the following information:
- He is in a town in Omi
- He is in northern Shimmering Fields
- His lookout is near a canal
You find Kuma in a coastal town on the shores of Lake Biwa called Hachiman’s Canal.
It’s on the eastern side of Lake Biwa, level with Sakamoto but on the other side. His lookout is next to the actual Hachiman’s Canal that gives the town its name and you find the tower marked with a white diamond next to an Ornament Vendor.
Speak to Kuma and he sends you after another corrupt official in Omi who’s shaking down farmers in the area. When you arrive, the farmers say a drunken samurai is causing trouble nearby, who you need to fight on the far side of the field from where you speak to them.
Return to the farmers when you’re victorious and they tell you the Daikan lives in Azuchi at the Daikan Mansion.
You find the mansion in the southwestern part of town, outside the main castle walls, just to the north of the Kakurega. The Daikan is not well guarded and can be defeated easily.
Return to Kuma with the letter retrieved from the official and get ready to take the fight to the real Shinbakufu.
