Atomfall is all about the mysterious facility known as the Interchange. A facility that is key to the nuclear fallout that has affected everyone here, and a place that most folk have been struggling to access for years. It’s quite plain to see as soon as you step foot inside the Interchange that most people who have dared come here have met unpleasant fates.
You are, of course, going to be the one to change all that! Though, to do that, you’ll need to find all Interchange doors across each area: Slatten Dale, Casterfell Woods, Wyndham Village, and Skethermoor. To help you do just that and gain access to the Interchange from anywhere, here’s where to find all Interchange doors in Atomfall.
Atomfall Interchange Access: Where to find all Interchange doors
We’ve listed all Interchange doors in Atomfall, and how to access them, below. Before you get going, however, it’s important to note that each time you open a new Interchange door, one of Atomfall’s mobs will then gain access to the area.
This means that over time, as you open more doors and explore the Interchange further, you can expect more enemies – including Outlaws, Druids, Protocol Soldiers and more – to appear inside the facility. With that in mind, I highly recommend making sure you are stocked up on crafting materials, meds, and stimulants before entering the Interchange at any point.
Slatten Dale Interchange Door
At the very beginning of Atomfall, the first NPC you meet – Nat – is not to be ignored. If you spend some time chatting to him, being friendly, he’ll tell you about a nearby trader, Molly, as well as the mysterious Interchange.
If you then go and visit Molly, and mention to her that Nat told you about the Interchange, she’ll then tell you exactly where to find the entrance to it and mark it on your map for you.
The Slatten Dale Interchange door is ‘inside a bunker that overlooks the quarry’ – marked on the above map – which is just north of an Outlaw Camp, so gear up for some combat before entering.
Wyndham Village Interchange Door
To access the Interchange from Wyndham Village in Atomfall, you need to pay a visit to the substation that is next to St. Katherine’s Church. This particular area is guarded by a Protocol Soldier, so be prepared to swiftly take them down before entering.
You can learn about the Wyndham Village Interchange door from Captain Sims inside the Village Hall, but in my experience, I ended up wandering in here as soon as I’d finished looting the church.
Casterfell Woods Interchange Door
The door to the Interchange in Casterfell Woods is another one that’s quite easy to run into naturally in Atomfall, given that it isn’t all that far from the region’s entrance to Wyndham Village. If you enter the region via Wyndham Village and follow the road to your left, you’ll actually wind up at the Interchange door within a matter of minutes.
That said, those who visit The Old Mine in the north of Casterfell Woods – where Mother Jago is found – will likely also end up exploring the Remote Bunker just to the east of it. If you’re yet to restore power to Data Store Charlie in the Interchange, Joyce Tanner is found inside and makes you aware of the Casterfell Woods Interchange door.
Skethermoor Interchange Door
The Skethermoor Interchange door is located in the grounds surrounding Skethermoor Prison in Atomfall. This particular Interchange entrance can be very troublesome to access, given that there’s a robot guarding the front of it and multiple Protocol Soldiers in the area.
That said, if you complete the very beginning of Captain Sims quest by essentially snitching on any of the dodgy goings-on of Wyndham’s villagers – such as the murder in the church, or Iris the baker’s unwell husband – he will give you a pass to enter the area without anyone becoming hostile. This is provided you agree to go and question Dr Garrow at the prison for him.
With the help of Captain Sims’ pass, you can waltz up to the Skethermoor Interchange door without issue and head on inside. That’s all four doors opened!
