CoD: Black Ops 6 – How To Play Early By Tricking Your Console Into Believing You’re In New Zealand

0

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 arrives worldwide on October 25, and many players will likely be excited to play early. Thankfully, there’s a little trick that might work for letting you play before your region’s scheduled release time. You just need to pretend you’re from New Zealand.

For the past few years, eager Call of Duty fans have tricked their devices into thinking they live in New Zealand. This only seems to work for consoles, and the rules will be different for PlayStation and Xbox. PC users might be out of luck unless they have some VPN method to relocate them to New Zealand, but this is usually a console only trick.

CharlieIntel believes this method should work again this year, but it’s worth noting that the process for PlayStation users might be way more hassle than it’s worth, as it requires you to create a New Zealand-specific PSN account and then delete and re-download the game for your actual region later on. On the other hand, Xbox users shouldn’t have too much difficulty faking their trip to New Zealand.

Xbox:

  • Power up console and head to the Settings
  • Select “System”
  • Select “Language and Location”
  • Change your location to New Zealand
  • Restart your console
  • Load up Black Ops 6 to start playing

PlayStation:

  • Go to the Call of Duty website
  • Log in to your Call of Duty account
  • Click on your profile and select “Basic Info”
  • Enter a New Zealand address
  • Make sure the changes save and load up Black Ops 6

It’s also worth noting a warning from a Call of Duty streamer known as xFleXy_, who advises PlayStation users not to preload the Black Ops 6 packs ahead of time. They suggest if you’re on PlayStation you will need to wait until the game is live in New Zealand, and then open the game on the New Zealand PSN account to download the packs.

All platforms can start preloading Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on October 21, while launch times will vary a bit between systems. The full preload and launch times and details can be found here. If you’re planning to play on PC, here are the highlighted PC-specific features and hardware requirements for Black Ops 6.
