Cobra Kaifans saw Kenny Payne in Season 5 compared to the other two.

Netflix released the fifth season of Cobra Kailast Friday, with the return of the familiar karate clashes in San Fernando Valley. The age of 15 yen actorDallas Dupree Young reprised his role as Kenny after making his debut in Season 4. Since Kenny left a young kid to a young teenager, the leader Terry Silver, who had to continue his legacy, can trust to be a leader of Cobra Kais. The interview is a lot of spoilers, don’t keep reading or watching if you’re still up to date for the whole season.

Despite the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament, Season 5 finds Terry Silver expanding the Cobra Kai empire and attempting to become the only town to find his No Mercy style of karate the only match in the town. While Kreese has been arrested, and Johnny Lawrence kicking an axe to improve his health, he needs to say that he’s a good friend, and he’s a good man.

Tudor Leonte: How were you able to get back to Cobra Kai season 5?

Tom Tom – You’ve seen many people, you have no idea. We were so excited to have this environment with each other. At that moment, we hadn’t seen each other in around six, seven months, and we were always cracking jokes about the matter of what, Oh, he grew taller than him! All that. He got bigger than he was. Now, please remember the greats for Season 5 and then, you know, we tried to make some masterpieces for everyone.

I saw it, and yeah, it’s pretty good. I like it. Is there anyone that you have particular ties with?

I have a common bond for a lot of other actors in the show, but the person who I love most would have to be Griffin Santopietro. She’s the best friend of mine on the show. While we bullied each other in the show, I remember when we got married in Season 4, whereas in this case, we had moments where we discussed the scenes off camera, and when we played video games and just enjoying the water park. So we started up a friendship about the start of Season 5. But now, we have a few more opportunities to talk to each other because COVID started to die.

Now that you mentioned the character’s style – Kenny – with Anthony that connection with that bully-victim we noticed in Season 4 that you were the victim. Season 5 shows how bullies play a role now. Please tell us about this transformation!

Yeah, the transformation was certainly complex, and it was difficult and unique in one step. I think the best thing about Kenny was the fact that his transformation was perfectly timed from the directors and the writers. I saw what they were looking for in his story from season 4 to season 5. That gradual change really helped me change that dynamic and find out who Kenny was at that time. So if he was the victim of Season 4 I knew where he was, then the development just went away later. It is a unique character and the dynamics were very interesting.

We also see Kenny working harder than many others. He is actually staying at Cobra Kai and probably the hardest worker in the room. What motivates him so much?

Young:I think what drives Kenny is basically his desire and desire to be the best competitor. He would like to become the top student in Kai. You see that gradual change from the beginning of episode 1 to Episode 10. He wants to be the best fighter in the world, and he wants to become the leader in Season 5.

For leaders, Terry Silver sees Kenny as a leader, but does he think he is a leader?

In the first place, as you said on the show, it wasn’t felt like he was the leader. He felt that Kyler was a long-time king. Episode 8 really was a huge turning point for my character. That transformation was made of him, which became a leader and a follower. Terry Silver really inspired him to have that leadership role and that leadership mentality.

How did you work with Thomas Ian Griffith?

Working with Thomas Ian Griffith was an amazing experience. He’s an intuitive person, and can know what it takes to be the best in martial arts, and school. He is very intelligent and a teacher for the entire life. I respect Thomas Ian Griffith so much, and I can’t wait to see what he’s doing in the future.

Did you get the chance to talk and perhaps exchange words on the stage?

Probably one day that happened, and at that time it seemed like 30 minutes of rest, and relaxation. We just had the opportunity to have a conversation, and as we said about his family, I spoke with him about my hopes and dreams, and my plans and dreams, the stories of what I want to be doing, the ostracizing things and the many more. We had really impactful conversations that affect my time in Cobra Kai.

If you came back to Kenny and he were you again, how much did you help that story involving former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and getting to hit him in the face?

Wow! I mean, this was absurd. It was a pretty scary moment because I have grown up watching Tyron Woodley in all of his UFC fights. The situation isn’t good. It was something that I didn’t expect would happen when I looked at the script and then it looked really great on camera.

What was the vibe in the room? I had an interview with Woodley before, but I know that he’s a very cool guy, but how was it in the scene?

When it was filmed, the character was very intense. After the camera and the show started, we laughed and had a wonderful time. This is definitely an experience that I’ll never forget, kicking Tyron Woodley in the face. A funny moment.

I know you remember this. Is there something that you’ll remember in particular from Season 5?

My phone is the perfect address whenever I tell Robbie about it. I saw her kind of dapping up LaRusso. I really liked him and he was just like you’re training my bully. Are you serious? I like that line, but that line was really cool, so it turned out to be an interesting dynamic in this situation.

He is interesting, but he has another clue as to how close it is to Kenny and Robbie. Where do you see it from here?

And since it gets closer to Season 5, so I am interested that as I see that the cause for the pain has ceased in Season 5, I don’t even know where the side Kenny will go for now. He doesn’t know who he can trust right now. I think they have a chance, in later seasons, that they can rekindle their friendship and become the friends and mentors that they were.

What’s the next step for Kenny? After the final we see a finale, of course, Terry Silver was defeated, and Kenny still really likes Cobra Kai. What’s next for her?

I think when he gets older, Kennys should make that decision. Oh no, I don’t know that Cobra Kai is really a thing at the end of Season 5 but he wants to stick with that intense mentality, or he wants to go to a different side, or if he does not intend to quit karate. I think her mind is just juggling at this moment. He isn’t able to trust and everybody has betrayed him. It’ll be interesting to know where Kenny can go.

What do you mean by you? What’s your last thing?

At the moment, I have a movie called 1-800-Hot-Nite that has just come out or is about to go out on November 4. It will be distributed on different platforms and you can see it online. It’s basically about a kid who lost his dad to a drug raid. He gets on this urban, with his best friends and somehow they’ll turn away their ultimate reality. You see a first kiss and your phone kiss. In 24 hours you see a lot of kids, from kids to adults. We’ve just come from the Deauville Film Festival, and we’ve just come from Santa Barbara, and were having fun traveling around the film festivals. It’s my number one project now, and I can’t wait for everyone to see that.

You are very young and you have a unique ability for many types of people. Cobra Kai combines action and drama, but, in the moment, do you prefer action projects or would you like to experiment with even more drama?

I want to test myself with both of them. I think the best thing about Cobra Kai and 1,800 Hot-Nite is that both of these projects are completely different. You’re giving action and drama to Cobra, and then a drama with the 1-8-800-Hot-Nite. The balance of the job is really good, but it is not really possible to work with different things that I have and just explore different avenues. If I had to choose, I would have liked the action because it seemed really exciting.
