Genshin Impact Iansan build and teams
A good Genshin Impact Iansan build is refreshingly straightforward to put together, compared to some other Natlan characters. Iansan is, essentially, a Natlan Bennett, a support character who can buff the party’s attack and heal them with her burst. There’s a slight catch to all this, though, namely that she’s not as powerful as Bennett unless you unlock her constellations. If you need an attack buff and have other Natlan characters on hand, though, Iansan is still a solid choice.
Our Genshin Impact Iansan build guide lists her best weapon and Artifact choices, and we give some Iansan team recommendations as well.

Building Iansan is similar to building Bennett, if you’ve done that. She needs energy recharge so she can cast her ultimate as soon as the cooldown ends and as much attack as you can give her so the ultimate’s buffs are as strong as they can be. Like most 4-star characters, Iansan doesn’t have a signature weapon of her own. However, if you have Shenhe’s Calamity Queller polearm, it’s an excellent fit for Iansan. Calamity Queller comes with attack as a bonus stat, and it raises the user’s attack with its passive when they use an elemental skill by 3.2 percent per second for 20 seconds. The effect can stack, but Iansan’s skill cooldown means you’ll likely only have a period of four seconds where she has two stacks. Still, it’s an excellent way to increase her ultimate’s buff capabilities, and the all-element damage boost of 12 percent doesn’t hurt either.
Raiden Shogun’s Engulfing Lightning is a strong second choice if you have it. It increases the user’s energy recharge and then buffs their attack based on their energy recharge – everything Iansan needs.
Her next best choice is the 4-star Favonius Lance. This one doesn’t have much to offer for attack buffs, but it does increase her energy recharge with its secondary stat. Its passive also comes with a high chance of generating additional energy particles when the user lands a critical hit.
Two event weapons, Missive Windspear and Tamayuretaei no Ohanshi, are also excellent options, though obviously, only if you completed the events that rewarded you with them. Missive Windspear increases attack by up to 41 percent with its secondary stat and then by a further 12 percent when the wielder causes an elemental reaction. Tamayuretaei no Ohanshi also increases attack, and its passive grants a 20 percent additional attack buff when the user casts their elemental skill.
Genshin Impact Iansan Artifacts

Iansan has two Artifact set options depending on who she’s teamed up with. If it’s a Natlan party, the region’s support set – Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City – is her best choice.
- Two-piece effect: The equipping character generates six energy when an ally triggers a Nightsoul burst
- Four-piece effect: After the equipping character causes an elemental reaction, all party members gain a 12 percent damage bonus related to the elemental types used in that reaction. If the equipping character is in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state – which Kachina often will be – the party gains an additional 28 percent damage bonus of the elements used in the reaction
Using this set with Iansan means you’ll want to prioritze Electro reactions, such as Overload, Superconduct, or Electro-Charged, which means you’ll also need to put a bit more thought into your team composition.
An easier set that works with any party is Noblesse Oblige.
- Two-piece effect: Increases elemental burst damage by 20 percent
- Four-piece effect: The party receives a 20 percent attack buff for 12 seconds after the wearer uses their elemental burst
Noblesse Oblige’s buff is a useful way to make up for Iansan’s lower scaling multipliers, and it’s not conditional on your party’s elemental makeup either. You can also access this set earlier in the game.

If you just need help raising Iansan’s attack, consider mixing two sets with attack buffs, such as Shimenawa’s Reminiscence, Gladiator’s Finale, Brave Heart, or Resolution of Sojourner.
Genshin Impact Iansan stats
Energy recharge and attack are Iansan’s most important stats. Ideally, you want at least 140-150 percent energy recharge, though more is better, and an attack stat over 2,000. 2,500 is or higher means you’ll get the most returns from her ultimate.
- Flower: HP
- Feather: Attack
- Sands: Energy recharge
- Goblet: Attack percent
- Circlet: Attack percent
Genshin Impact Iansan teams
Like Bennett, Iansan works with pretty much any other character who benefits from attack buffs, which is every DPS character. Iansan with Cinder City should include at least one other Electro character, but Noblesse Oblige teams are completely free.

Like any Electro character, she’s also a good choice for Dendro teams.
Iansan F2P teams have plenty of options as well, including:
What tier is Iansan in Genshin Impact?
Iansan’s tier placement depends on whether you have her at C0 or C2. C2 Iansan is almost like Bennett and, without question, goes in the S-tier. C0 Iansan is half a Bennett, almost literally. Her ultimate’s buffs are half as effective as Bennett’s, and the talent doesn’t scale like his when it levels up, either. 4-star characters tend to come up frequently in banners or just by chance, so you’ll likely, eventually, have Iansan at C2. Until then, though, she’s an A-tier supporter.
