Your Genshin Impact Lauma build needs a lot of elemental mastery to get the most out of the first proper Nod-Krai character, but maxing out her kit’s buffs is a surprisingly attainable goal. Lauma is the rare case of a character whose signature weapon isn’t her best choice, and the two that are just happen to be free.

Best weapons for Lauma in Genshin Impact
Normally, this is where we’d lead with a character’s signature weapon, which is almost always the best choice for them. Lauma’s signature is excellent for her, unsurprisingly, but there are other, easier-to-obtain options you should aim for instead. The permanent one is the craftable 4-star catalyst Blackmarrow Lantern. It has elemental mastery as its secondary stat, and at level 90, it gives the equipping character 221 elemental mastery. That’s just 40-ish less than Lauma’s signature provides.
Blackmarrow Lantern’s passive increases bloom damage by 48/96 percent and Lunar-Bloom damage by 12/24 percent, and it gives a 12/24 percent Lunar-Bloom damage buff for Ascendant Gleam. That covers Lauma’s essential needs, even if it lacks the extra elemental mastery boost that comes from her signature’s passive. Once you unlock the blueprint, you can swap the right billet for as many Blackmarrow Lanterns as you have materials for, which means you can get the higher levels of the catalyst’s buffs without having to spend Primogems.
Another excellent choice is an event weapon, Etherlight Spindlelute, which you can obtain along with its refinement materials from the Clink Clank Clash event that begins on Sept. 12, 2025. This one has energy recharge as its secondary stat, which is still an important stat for Lauma, since her burst increases bloom-related reactions based on her elemental mastery stat. Etherlight Spindlelute’s passive grants the equipping character an elemental mastery buff of 100/200 for 20 seconds after they cast their elemental skill. Lauma’s skill cooldown is just 12 seconds, so this is basically a permanent buff for her.
The only downside is that, being an event weapon, you won’t always be able to obtain it. Even if you don’t want Lauma, it’s a fantastic weapon for any character who relies on elemental mastery.
Lauma’s signature, Nightweaver’s Looking Glass, has elemental mastery as its secondary stat, up to 265 at level 90, and its passive gives the equipping character 60 more elemental mastery for 4.5 seconds if their skill deals Dendro or Hydro damage. If allies trigger Lunar-Bloom, the user’s elemental mastery increases by 60 for 10 seconds. When both effects are active, all allies’ bloom damage increases by 120 percent, hyperbloom damage increases by 80 percent, and Lunar-Bloom damage goes up by 40 percent. These effects are powerful, but they’re also a bit more fiddly to activate compared to the two 4-star catalysts above.
Other options that aren’t ideal, but still provide useful elemental mastery buffs are:
- Nahida’s A Thousand Floating Dreams
- Citlali’s Starcaller’s Watch
- Mizuki’s Sunny Morning Sleep-In
- Sacrifical Fragments
Sacrificial Fragments is useful and has a good secondary stat for Lauma, though since Lauma doesn’t necessarily need to be casting her skill twice in short succession, the passive skill isn’t a perfect fit.
Best artifacts for Lauma in Genshin Impact
Lauma’s top artifact set is Silken Moon’s Serenade, a set new to Lunar Verse 1 (which is but isn’t Genshin 6.0) that helps with energy regeneration and elemental mastery, though it does require at least one other Nod-Krai character in Lauma’s party for the full effect. That’s not a huge issue, considering you can get Aino, an excellent bloom support character, for free, but it’s worth keeping in mind if you planned on using Lauma outside of Lunar-Bloom teams.
Anyway, here’s what the set does:
- Two-piece effect: Increases energy recharge by 20 percent
- Four-piece effect: When the wearer deals elemental damage, the party gains the Gleaming Moon: Devotion effect, which increases elemental mastery by 60/120 when the party’s moon sign is Nascent/Ascending
You can also mix elemental mastery sets to get a similar buff without having to mess with moon signs. Two pieces of Gilded Dream and two of Night of the Sky’s Unwilling give you 160 elemental mastery, though you’ll miss the special perks of having a four-piece set.

- Two-piece effect: Increases Dendro damage by 15 percent
- Four-piece effect: When the wearer’s skill or burst damage an opponent, their Dendro resistance decreases by 30 percent for eight seconds, and the effect can activate when the wearer is off-field
How much elemental mastery does Lauma need?
That depends on how you want to play, though the caps are high for both playstyles. The comparativel easier one to reach is 800 elemental mastery, which gives Lauma the maximum Lunar-Bloom damage buff from her first passive talent and the maximum skill damage buff from her third passive talent. That’s also going to scale very nicely with her damage multipliers, which get pretty high with elemental mastery; Lunar-Bloom damage, for example, increases by 222 percent of her elemental mastery during her burst.
If you want to max out everything in Lauma’s kit, though, you’ll need 1,000 elemental mastery, which gives you the maximum cooldown for her charged attack’s alternate form. Is it necessary? Absolutely not, but if you really want the full deal, that’s what you need to aim for.
Artifact stats for Lauma
Regardless of which cap you want to hit, if you want to hit one at all, Lauma needs elemental mastery more than anything, along with a bit of energy recharge to help keep her burst firing off regularly. Since its energy cost is only 60, you don’t need to go wild with energy recharge, but a bit does help.
- Sands: Energy recharge
- Goblet: Elemental mastery
- Circlet: Elemental mastery
If you’re using the Etherlight Spindleflute, skip energy recharge for the sands piece, and just go for elemental mastery. That, plus Lauma’s own elemental mastery and the weapon’s passive effect, will get you to the 800 threshold.
Best teams for Lauma
The thing that’s great about Lauma is that, sure, she’s meant for Lunar-Bloom teams, but she’s also the new top-tier Dendro character, the best at applying the element everywhere and one of the only ones who can reduce Dendro resistance without using a specific weapon or artifact. In other words, if you have a team that needs a Dendro character, Lauma should be in it.
Nilou and Kaveh are still comparatively niche characters, since their kits are still designed just for bloom damage, but the damage bonuses they apply to that reaction make them fantastic partners for Lauma. Even if you don’t have the bloom specialists, though, all you need is a capable Hydro character and potentially a second Dendro character to help bump the party’s elemental mastery even higher.
The final slot is free. You could use a second Hydro character or include an Electro character to diversify the kind of reactions and damage your party deals. Heck, you could even add a Cryo character for a bit of freeze or an Anemo character to swirl Hydro around. It might not be ideal, but the team is flexible enough that you can still experiment to see what you like best.
