Genshin Impact x Duolingo crossover event: How to claim all rewards

0

In a surreal turn of events to mark the end of 2025, gamified educational app Duolingo is currently hosting a collaboration with Genshin Impact, the free-to-play open-world ARPG from HoYoverse that is arguably the world’s most well-known gacha game, having broken containment from the mobile game ghetto to become something of a household name.

While the two apps do in fact have a few things in common – bright and appealing colour palettes, instantly recognisable cartoon mascots, and having spent a fair chunk of this calendar year trying to alienate their audiences by pushing for more generative AI-driven content – you might be wondering exactly how they fit together on a mechanical level, given that gameplay-wise they really couldn’t be further apart.

Well, we’re here with the answers, so read on for how to complete the Genshin Impact x Duolingo crossover event quests and claim all rewards.

How to complete the Genshin Impact Quest in Duolingo

The crossover event between Genshin Impact and Duolingo takes place in Duolingo, but completing the quest in time grants rewards that can be redeemed in Genshin Impact as well.

First, and most obviously, you need to have accounts with both apps in order to get the most out of this event – although if you’re a Duolingo player who doesn’t play Genshin but just likes the look of the Paimon & Duo Statue cosmetic reward, you do you, of course.

To begin the quest, open Duolingo and navigate to the Quests tab – Duolingo UI can vary slightly between users depending on a number of factors, but the Quests tab should be at the bottom of the screen on mobile, with an icon that looks like a treasure chest with a keyhole on the front.

In the middle of the page, a statue of Duo and Paimon is 1/3 revealed from a block of stone, with the prompt for the player to "Extend your streak by 3 days" in order to complete the Genshin Impact Quest over the next 3 weeks.

Upon opening the Duolingo Quests tab for the first time during the event, you’ll be prompted to confirm whether you want to take part in the Genshin Impact Quest or not. Obviously, select Join the Quest if you’re interested in claiming the rewards.

Confirming your participation will add the Genshin Impact Quest to your Duolingo quest log. The event period is December 8th to December 27th, 2025.

In order to complete the Genshin Impact Quest, all you have to do is extend your streak by three days during the three-week event period. Yep, that’s right: you literally just need to complete at least one Duolingo lesson a day for at least three consecutive days out of a three-week period. That’s the only quest in this event, so you’ll be eligible for full rewards as soon as you complete it.

This quest is open to both free and paid users of Duolingo and is valid across all educational courses, so encompasses every language course on the app as well as music, maths, and chess. It’s only available in selected regions, however, and the only reliable way to find out right now whether your region is included is to open the Duolingo app and see if you get the option to activate the quest.

How to claim Duolingo crossover rewards in Genshin Impact

As we’ve mentioned already, completing the quest by the end date grants you a cute Paimon & Duo statue reward to do… whatever it is you do with statues in Duolingo. I’ll be honest, I’m on a 786 day streak right now and even I’m not too sure what they’re actually for.

The main appeal though, I suspect, will be for Genshin Impact players who are looking forward to nabbing the following rewards in that game:

  • “Diligent Study” avatar (exclusive)
  • “Celebration: Dream Reader” namecard (exclusive)
  • “Spiced Fried Chicken” dish and recipe (exclusive)
  • 60x Primogems
  • 2x Hero’s Wit
  • 4x Mystic Enhancement Ore

Upon completing the quest, you can claim the rewards by navigating to the Shop tab in Duolingo, which is accessed via the menu along the top of the main app screen and indicated by the blue gem icon.

In the Shop, locate the Genshin Impact Reward item and redeem it to generate your unique reward code. You can copy-paste this and redeem it like you would any other Genshin Impact codes by claiming it at the Genshin Gift website (follow our guide for full instructions) and then opening the bundle via your in-game mail.

There are just a couple of key dates to bear in mind. You need to activate your code from the Duolingo Shop by December 30th, and then redeem it via the Genshin Impact code redemption process by January 31st, 2026. You’ll then have the usual 30 days from your date of redemption to complete your claim via the in-game mailbox in Genshin Impact.

Try not to think too hard about why those fried chicken legs are bright green as you enjoy this truly unexpected crossover.
