Haikyu Fly High Tier List

Haikyu Fly High blends sports with strategy, as you build a roster of powerful players from different teams across the Haikyu anime universe and grow them into an unstoppable winning machine.

Incorporating both a real-time match engine and proper anime cutscenes for players’ Ultimate abilities, Haikyu Fly High comes from Garena International and Klab Games, anime adaptation veterans who’re responsible for the long-running Bleach: Brave Souls and similar Captain Tsubasa Dream Team.

However, like many mobile anime games, Haikyu Fly High is a gacha game at heart, which means collecting the best players from the dizzying array of variations of the same character isn’t always as straightforward as it first seems.

That’s why we’ve put together this early Haikyu Fly High Tier List to guide you through the early game and work out who’s worth investing your limited resources into and who doesn’t make the cut. We’ve also tried to give you an explanation for why we’ve placed those characters in each tier, as well as a reroll guide on who you should pick right at the very beginning of the game.

Haikyu Fly High Tier List

At this early stage of the game, there are some obvious stand out players who definitely deserve to be in the S Tier, but there are also a huge number of SSR players we’ve not tried yet to determine their relative power level.

For now, SSR players tend to be good, so you can be pretty sure that they’re decent and belong towards the top of the list. By that same token, the more common players are generally not worth investing level up materials into and you should hold off until you can pull someone better.

However, if any SR (or lower) players start to make a name for themselves, we’ll shout them out from the rest of the pack.

Why are the strongest Haikyu Fly High players the best?

As the only UR player in the game, Wakatoshi Ushijima is both OP in name and nature with both unmatched power and the ability to serve with rare prowess. Alternatively in the Opposite Hitter position (as shown in the loading screen) you should look out for whichever versions of Kentaro Kyotani and Daichi Sawamura you can lay your hands on, but obviously the SSR versions are the best.

As your Libero there’s only really one choice, Yu Nishinoya, which makes him a no-brainer for your wishlisted player in the Select Recruit banner. While Kei Tsukishima is a fantastic Middle Blocker who’s also worthy of the S Tier because of his incredible ability to debuff opposition Spikers, you also get him for free for logging into the game for 7 days, making adding him to your roster a matter of time.

Elsewhere in the middle of the court, the SSR Shoyo Hinata is obviously worth your attention as the Haikyu MC and lead character of his own banner for the game’s launch. However, he’s an extremely offensive option who focuses on buffing your team’s attack rather than blocking himself.

For a more defensive approach, the Iron Wall Takanobu Aone is as solid as his nickname suggests, applying a similar debuff effect to the opposition while also draining their stamina.

Alternatively again, the Nekoma duo of Tetsuro Kuroo (Practice) and Lev Haiba make for a formidable partnership, particularly since it gets you half way towards the Nekoma Bond Bonus which gives your entire a blanket buff to their Receive stat.

Finally in the Wing Spiker slots, if you’re focussing on collecting Shoyo’s teammates for the Bond Bonus, then it makes sense to focus on versions of Ryunosuke Tanaka, Chikara Ennoshita and Asahi Azumane. Tanka in particular is a standout and very obtainable thanks to his inclusion in the initial reroll recruits.

However, Hajime Iwaizumi is also extremely good because of his buff to critical hits, which synergizes extremely well with many other players’ Ultimate Skills.

As for Setters, given the emphasis on switching them out to obtain a different Lineup Speciality, I’ve not seen enough of any of them to see if they’re worth foregoing that advantage and sticking with every time.

Who should you reroll for as your first SSR character?

At the beginning of your journey, you’re given the opportunity to reroll 10 times to get a guaranteed SSR character from a pool of 4: Ryunosuke Tanaka, Hajime Iwaizumi, Lev Haiba and Takanobu Aone.

All 4 of the characters are good, there’s not a bad one of the bunch. However, Ryunosuke Tanaka is probably the best character to reroll for in most situations. This is because he’s a fun, versatile and strong Wing Spiker who’s also easy to link up with players from the same school to get a Bond bonus like Shoyo Hinata or Kei Tsukishima and Yu Nishinoya.
