HoYoverse announced the Honkai Star Rail anniversary rewards for the game’s second birthday celebrations during the HSR 5.2 livestream, and there’s more than just a 10-pull here. For one thing, HoYoverse is giving away a free 5-star character – either Ruan Mei or Luocha, depending on which you prefer. There’s also a total of 20 tickets up for grabs, and HoYoverse will quietly force 1,600 Stellar Jade and 10 Fuel in your HSR inbox as well.

Honkai Star Rail 3.2 anniversary rewards: Free 5-star character
One of the biggest rewards is an item you can redeem for one of two free 5-star characters. The item is Golden Companion Spirit, and while HoYoverse didn’t say how you’ll get it, it sounds as if you’ll redeem it from the event menu. Using the spirit will let you pick either Luocha OR Ruan Mei. Ruan Mei is still one of the game’s best support characters, especially for break-focused teams. Luocha might seem like an odd choice for a freebie. However, with Mydei trying to deplete his HP as often as possible and Castorice’s memosprite trying to kill everyone, a healer who can jump in to save the day is the perfect fit.
Their respective signature Light Cones are not included in that giveaway, but HoYoverse is handing out Memory Shard items that you can use to exchange for a single 5-star Light Cone, including Ruan Mei’s or Luocha’s. The anniversary overview doesn’t say how you’ll obtain those memory shard items, but they Cones themselves will live in the Stellar Convergence shop while the version lasts.
Golden Companion Spirit, and the free 5-star character it unlocks, will be available as soon as HSR 3.2 goes live. HoYoverse said the period for obtaining Golden Companion Spirit will last until HSR 3.4
Honkai Star Rail 3.2 anniversary rewards: Free pulls
HoYoverse will give away 20 Special Passes, the golden tickets for HSR’s limited banners, in a login event that begins the day HSR 3.2 launches. You’ll have to check in once per day for seven days total to get all 20. On Honkai Star Rail’s second anniversary, which is April 26, 2025, HoYoverse will send every player 1,600 Stellar Jade – enough for 10 pulls – and 10 Fuel in the in-game mailbox.
That’s 30 pulls total, which isn’t enough to guarantee a 5-star character on the limited banners, but it’s a start.
Honkai Star Rail 3.2 anniversary event: Star Rail World
HoYoverse introduced the Cosmodyssey event mode for HSR’s first anniversary, but this year’s event is Star Rail World. It’s a curation event where the player collaborates with NPCs to plan and host a gallery – securing exhibits, raising funds, and so on.
The event goes live on April 9, 2025, and lasts until May 19, 2025, and taking part in it will earn you a new Erudition Light Cone, The Great Cosmic Enterprise. It’s a useful weapon for newcomer Anaxa, as it grants attack buffs for the number of weaknesses an enemy has.
Honkai Star Rail 3.2 anniversary: Top-up reset
This one isn’t necessarily an event or reward, but as usual, HoYoverse is resetting the top-up bonuses for HSR’s Oneiric Shard items. That means you’ll get double the amount the first time you purchase, but even with the additional character banners running during the version update, remember that HSR is a game you can complete without spending any money. Free-to-play teams still work in all three endgame challenge modes.
