How to find Rock Crystals for Hexga in Clair Obscur
As you venture into and start exploring Stone Wave Cliffs in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, it won’t be long at all before you bump into a Hexga. These intimidating enemies are made up of rocks and crystals, and they certainly aren’t as troublesome as they look. There is one lone Hexga, sat outside of Tide Caverns, who could use the Expedition’s help, however.
Much like Jar and the Demineur’s side quests, if you took the time to help them, this lone Hexga is white in appearance and appears weakened. He’s missing the Rock Crystals that other Hexga’s like him have, and given that he can’t move right now, Expedition 33 are the only folk who can help. Here’s how to find Rock Crystals for Hexga in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
How to help Hexga in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
This particular Hexga is hard to miss in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. He’s found in Stone Wave Cliffs right beside the entrance to Tide Caverns, and appears as a huge set of white rock crystals poking out of the ground.
Upon talking to him, he’ll reveal that he’s much weaker than the other Hexga’s you’ve come across, and is missing the glowing rock crystals that the others have inserted in their backs. This is when Expedition 33 can offer to help him with finding some rock crystals to return this Hexga back to his former glory.
The Hexga will reveal that he needs three rock crystals, all of which can be found in the nearby cavern. So, venture forth into the cavern beside him and grab the upcoming Expedition Flag – Tide Caverns – to get started.
Once inside of Tide Caverns, you’ll notice that it’s exceptionally dark and full of enemies. Fortunately, however, the cavern itself is also quite small, so you’ll have little issue tracking down the items needed for the Hexga.
The first two rock crystals you can collect appear as bright, white crystals (shown below) beside walls or structures, and they’re particularly close to one another in the middle of the cavern. That said, there is a functioning Hexga here that you’ll likely want to take down first.

Destroy these two rock crystals and make sure to pick up the item that they leave behind.
In my experience, once you collect one rock crystal, it’ll appear in your inventory under ‘quest items’. Collecting subsequent rock crystals do not appear as additional items in your inventory, but you do need to make sure you have found three of them in the cavern before returning to Hexga, even if your inventory looks like it is saying otherwise.

The third and final rock crystal is found in a corner of the base of the cavern, at the same level as the Hexga enemy you’ll have fought. That said, upon approaching this particular crystal, a Rocher enemy will leap from the ground wielding a white beam rather than a grey rock one.
Battle the Rocher and you’ll acquire a third rock crystal upon defeat.

With all three rock crystals collected, you can exit Tide Caverns and return to Hexga. Speak to him and show him your discovery, and you’ll then be able to insert the rock crystals into his back. He’ll then stand up finally, revealing the Auto Shell Pictos beneath him as your reward.
As is usually the case with the friendly Nevron’s you’ll regularly come across in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, if you talk to Hexga after helping him, you’ll then have the option to duel with him if you’re feeling prepared for it. If you manage to successfully beat him, you’ll earn
