How to get free Diamonds in 99 Nights in the Forest

Diamonds are a rare and valuable commodity in 99 Nights in the Forest which let you unlock different Classes. These Classes act as preset builds and characters for you to role-play, letting you start with an inventory of useful items or with powerful passive buffs which fit the theme of the person you’re playing as.

The best Classes, such as the deadly and agile Assassin, tanky Brawler and resource-gathering Lumberjack, can cost anywhere from 70 to a whopping 500 Diamonds.

But when you first boot up 99 Nights in the Forest, it looks like you can only buy Diamonds for Robux, which means forking out real-world money for in-game items you might only use for a little while.

However, you don’t actually have to buy any Diamonds using Robux and can eventually get enough to buy even the Assassin for free.

How to get free Diamonds in 99 Nights

There are 4 main ways to get free Diamonds in 99 Nights:

  • Completing Badges and redeeming them from the experience’s lobby
  • Surviving 50 and 99 nights in a single run
  • Routing the Cultist Stronghold on the outskirts of the forest
  • Finding them inside randomly spawning chests

How to get Diamonds from Badges

In the experience lobby you enter when you first boot up 99 Nights, you have two options on the left-hand side of your screen: Classes and Badges.

These Badges are challenges which reward you with Diamonds when you complete them. You gain Badges for surviving intervals of 10 nights up to 99 (and for going even further to 250 and 500 days), as well as for things like upgrading your campfire, buying seeds from the Fairy and defeating cultists.

The “secret action” Badge is awarded if you step on one of your allies’ bear traps, so you can only do that one as part of a team.

You only get a couple or a few Diamonds for each individual Badge you complete. However, they quickly add up, allowing you to get great early-game Classes like the item-hoarding Scavenger relatively soon.

While Badges are a one-time-deal, you can technically get an unlimited number of Diamonds from randomly spawning chests around the forest.

You only get one Diamond at a time this way, and they’re quite rare drops, but they’re still a nice bonus.

Additionally, you also get a nice little Diamond reward when you get “half way” and “complete” a run and reach both 50 and the eponymous 99 nights.

How to get Diamonds from Cultist Strongholds

Finally, the best way to farm Diamonds in 99 Nights in the Forest is by clearing the Cultist Stronghold.

A Cultist Stronghold looks like a big castle in the forest and is marked by a diamond-like logo on the map.

These combat gauntlets pit your squad against waves of both melee and ranged cultists and can be difficult to handle unless you know what you’re doing. However, if you’re in a good team with a really solid foundation and decent weapons you can effectively run the Stronghold over-and-over to farm as many Diamonds as you need.

Once you clear a Stronghold you gain access to a reward room with some Cultist Gem items, a rare chest and a Diamond chest which spits out a heap of stones.

You can complete Cultist Strongholds every 20 real-world minutes. When you first run a Stronghold it starts at level 1, then gets more-and-more difficult up to level 4. By the time you get to level 4 you’ll need some seriously good weapons to prevail and likely have to build the ammo crate item to have enough resources to make it through.

From there you just need to decide how you’re going to spend your Diamonds, safe in the knowledge you earned them by having fun and without spending any Robux!
