Retrieving a health potion for the injured warrior Isaac in The Forge isn’t as simple as it seems, and many players could easily be mistaken that the quest is bugged. Here’s how to complete it quickly and easily, so you can claim the XP rewards for yourself!
The Ruined Cave in the Forgotten Kingdom in The Forge is full of dangerous ghouls and skeletons, so it’s no wonder that the wounded man, Isaac, is a little worse for wear at the entrance to the main cavern.
To nurse himself back to health, he asks you to bring him a basic health potion.
How to give Isaac a health potion in The Forge
To get a health potion for Isaac, you need to buy one from the potion seller in Stonewake’s Cross, then press it on your hotbar to hold it in your hand before speaking to him.
To return to Stonewake’s Cross from the Forgotten Kingdom, open your Portal from your inventory and set it down. Then interact with the Portal to return to the previous area. From here you can go right from where you spawn in to reach the potion seller, who has health potions for sale at just $150.
For the quest to register the health potion, you must use a basic Health Potion I from the first potion seller in the game, not the Health Potion II which is available for purchase in the Forbidden Kingdom. At the time of writing, the stronger, and more expensive, potion will not work. Isaac will simply say, “is this a joke to you,” and close the conversation.
If the quest isn’t working as expected, check off those two key things:
- Make sure you’re using the Health Potion I that’s from the first area in The Forge
- Then make sure you’re holding the health potion in your hand when you speak to Isaac
With that completed, it’s time to venture into the Ruined Cave itself, where you can find tons of brand-new Ore locations, as well as Elite versions of enemies.
