How to help the Demineur in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

0

During your time trying to reach the Paintress – and put a stop to her – in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, you’ll find that not every single Nevron or creature you come across actually wants to kill you. In fact, some of them actively seek your help, such as the white Demineur you’ll run into in Flying Waters.

This Demineur is not hostile, and instead, appears to be missing their mine. Helping them with tracking down a mine will wield some rewards that’ll help Expedition 33’s plight, so let’s get going! Here’s exactly how to help the Demineur in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

How to help the Demineur in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

The Demineur in this particular Clair Obscur side quest is found in Flying Waters, and surprisingly isn’t hostile towards Maelle, Lune, and Gustave.

They’re found just beyond the Expedition 59 Flag (which is Noco’s Hut when fast-travelling), through a knocked-over jar – shown above – which acts as a passage to their location. To get there, keep right in the area following Noco’s Hut instead of venturing straight inside the shipwreck.

Upon interacting with the Demineur, you’ll have the option to ‘Examine’ or ‘Attack’ it. Both options wield rewards, but if you attack the Demineur now, you will not be able to help complete the Nevron’s side quest.

As a result, we recommend that you Examine it for now. You can always come back and attack it later, much like the Jar quest in Spring Meadows.

Upon examining the creature, it’ll become clear that this Demineur is missing its mine, which means it then becomes your job to then find one for it!

To find a mine for the Demineur, you want to head to the right of the Nevron until you reach multiple stone pillars that you can platform across (shown above). Jump across these and keep your eyes peeled for a glowing, pink item, as this is the mine we need to collect.

With the mine in your possession, return to the Demineur and interact with them again, handing over the mine. As a result of completing the side quest, you’ll receive the Level 3 Deminerim weapon which Lune can equip.

You can keep speaking to the Demineur now, and will eventually be presented with the option of leaving it or attacking it.

Should you attack the Demineur in Clair Obscur?

As mentioned earlier, you can fight the Demineur in Clair Obscur, but it’s important that you do this after completing their side quest if you want to bag a new weapon for Lune. Fighting them also has no repercussions.

To battle the Demineur, you simply need to interact with it and select ‘Attack’, then the fight will ensue. Use free-aim to destroy the mine you just gave them, dealing a good chunk of damage to the enemy, and much of this particular fight should be a breeze.

Upon defeating the Demineur, you will be rewarded with three Colour of Lumina and one Chroma Catalyst.
