How to make a Cake in Grow a Garden
While baking a cake in a boiling pot using just fruits and vegetables without the key ingredients of milk, eggs and butter doesn’t make a lot of sense, the magic of Grow a Garden makes it possible!
When Chris P. Bacon’s tummy is rumbling and cake is the only thing he’s craving, you won’t mind how weird the ingredients are, you’ll just be happy to take home the sweet rewards on offer.
While there are a wide variety of cake recipes you can cook in Grow a Garden, many of them require limited ingredients which are very difficult to get if you don’t have them already.
However, there are still a couple of easy recipes which should be achievable for most players. Here’s what you need to do!
How to make a Cake in Grow a Garden
There are a whopping 7 rarities of cakes you can make using the following recipes:
| Cake Rarity | Cake Recipe |
|---|---|
| Uncommon / Common | 1 Strawberry, 1 Tomato, 1 Corn, 1 Apple |
| Rare | 2 Watermelon, 2 Corn |
| Legendary | 1 Corn, 1 Tomato, 1 Banana, 1 Sugar Apple or 2 Banana, 1 Blood Banana, 1 Moon Melon, 1 Soft Sunshine |
| Mythical | 1 Lucky Bamboo, 3 Sugar Apple, 1 Corn or 1 Bone Blossom, 1 Coconut, 1 Banana |
| Divine | 1 Corn, 2 Elder Strawberry, 2 Sugar Apple |
| Prismatic | 1 Banana, 3 Bone Blossom |
If you’ve seen the full list of Grow a Garden recipes, you’ll recognize some familiar, but very tough to find ingredients like the Bone Blossom. This Transcendent level crop was part of the Dino event which has since finished, meaning if you don’t have it already, you will have to trade another player who does for the Bone Blossoms you need.
It’s the same story for the Blood Banana, Moon Melon, Elder Strawberry and Soft Sunshine. If you didn’t get them during their corresponding events, then you will need to trade for them.
If you’re in that boat, then your best bet is to try and grind up towards the Prismatic Sugar Apple, but even that only gets you so far.
Either way, once you’ve gathered the ingredients to make the cake you want to cook, make your way to the pot in the middle of everyone’s farms.
Here you can deposit the materials into the pot by first holding them in your hand, then dropping them inside. If you make a mistake, you can empty the pot and retry using the red button on the sandwich board to your left.
When you’re satisfied with your recipe, press the big “cook” button and wait for the process to finish. Then, with the dish you’ve made in your hand, speak to Chris and ask him to sample the meal you’ve made for him. If it’s what he’s craving, he’ll hand over unique event rewards for your trouble! As you’ve seen, it’s handy to hold onto these rewards – you never know when you’ll need them for a future event!
