How to save Elves in 99 Nights in the Forest
In 99 Nights in the Forest, saving Santa’s Elves requires specific tools, which can be confusing if you’ve not seen where to get them. This page will tell you everything you need to know about Elf rescue, including where to find the right equipment, find the Elves, then what to do to save them once you’ve found them.
Santa’s Elves have come to 99 Nights in the Forest just in time for Christmas. But, just like the missing kids before them, the Elves have quickly learned just how dangerous the woods can be and are in need of rescue.
To save Santa’s Elves you will need to make use of some brand-new items, including an amazing new vehicle to traverse the snowy landscape.
Where to find Elves in 99 Nights in the Forest
As you play a normal round of 99 Nights in the Forest, Elves will spawn into your game periodically as you transition from night to day.
A message will appear on your screen in the morning saying, “Elves have appeared around the map” and a number.
You can then search the area around your campfire to find any of three kinds of Elves: ones stuck on frozen lakes, ones stuck up trees and ones buried in the snow.
Alternatively, you can purchase the Elf Scanner from the Elf Shop in the 99 Nights in the Forest lobby and build it from your crafting table. This will then highlight Elves on your map by default without having to look for them!
How to save the Elves in 99 Nights in the Forest
Once you’ve found the Elves you need to know how to save them, which you can do by following these steps:
- Gather coins by defeating Cultists and exploring the map
- Use the coins to buy special equipment from the giant present sack near your campfire
- Use the Sled to move quickly around the map to find Elves
- Use the Ice Skates to save Elves stuck on frozen lakes
- Use the Shovel to dig buried Elves out of the snow
- Build the Ladder to rescue Elves who are stuck up a tree
How to save Elves from frozen lakes
To rescue Elves who have slipped on frozen lakes, you need to buy the Ice Skates from the present sack, then glide out to them and help them up.
If you try to walk on the slippery surface without Ice Skates, both of you will fall.
Once you’ve rescued the Elf, they will reward you with a present, which contains a random assortment of very useful items including weapons, cake and resources.
How to save buried Elves
To rescue Elves who are buried in the snow, you need to buy the Snow Shovel from the present sack and dig them out.
Once you’ve found the Elf, equip the Shovel and dig over the top of them. This can be a little tricky to get to work, but once you’ve cleared the 4 squares around them the Elf will be free and you’ll get your present as well as 5 Candy Canes.
How to save Elves from trees
Finally, to save Elves who are stuck up a tree, you need to buy a Ladder for 15 coins. Ladders are single-use, so you will need to buy a new one each time you want to save an Elf (unless you can move it with a hammer).
Equip the ladder, then build it on the same side of the tree as the Elf. Make sure you build on the same side as the Elf, otherwise you might not be able to reach them, your ladder will be used up and you will have wasted the opportunity.
With that, you know everything you need to help save Christmas in 99 Nights in the Forest! But if you’re still after a boost, be sure to take a look at our page on 99 Nights in the Forest codes.
