With the Dry Devil on your side, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s Into the Underworld quest is next on the docket. Or the Devil’s Pack, if you want to take a lengthy detour around the region first. The game gently encourages you to tick the Devil’s Pack quests off your list as you complete Into the Underworld, but whatever order you choose to complete these in, you must complete Into the Underworld to advance the story.

The quest sends you to speak with Katherine about a lead she has on John of Lichtenstein. She’s probably in a tavern in Kuttenberg’s eastern half called the Hangman’s Halter, though some players reported that they found her in Horschan. That’s not something we experienced, but if for some reason you can’t find her in Kuttenberg, check there instead.
Anyway, Katherine’s lead is a crook called Goatskin, and finding him is the quest’s primary goal, though it branches in several ways. Back to the city’s east you go, looking for the Hole in the Wall tavern. The long route through the quest is by finding a man named Chenyek inside the tavern, but you can bypass that part, ask the right man in the Black Horse about Goatskin’s girlfriend, and get to the thief that way. Either method is valid, so we’re covering both, with Chenyek first.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Into the Underworld: Gain Chenyek’s respect
You won’t be gaining Chenyek’s respect unless you’ve got a high intimidation or persuasion stat. If you fail the check – which is likely, as it’s a hard check and a very hard check, respectively – you’ve got to fight a man named Goliath at the tavern’s fight club for Chenyek to change his opinion about you. It’s doable, but not exactly easy, as you can’t use armor or weapons in this fight.
The other option is to buy Chenyek a drink for 200 Groschen to gain his trust. Either one works. You can also ask Chenyek for a job to help him and his merry band of rebels disrupt the current establishment and stick it to the man, as it were. That’s not required for this quest, however.

Chenyek directs you to the Black Horse tavern in Kuttenberg, or you can go there yourself without ever speaking to Chenyek. Speak to Foreman Vlach or the innkeeper to learn about Goatskin’s girlfriend at the bathhouse near the city’s southwestern, and head there next. From what we can tell, they all have the same information, so it doesn’t matter who you speak to.
You can speak to several people inside for information leading to other quests, but the woman with information about Goatskin is Hanka from Prague. She’s in the main chamber cleaning one of the baths. Hanka complains about Goatskin robbing her clients and says “that b***h Mary” should know more. The Mary in question is in the bathhouse as well, in a smaller room near the kitchen – or she was for us. Hanka, Mary, and the rest move about depending on the time of day, but they’ll definitely be in or just outside the building.
Tell Mary you want to know about Goatskin. The quest diverges again here. If you pass one of the checks – intimidation is the easiest, though it’s classed as hard – Mary will tell you where to find Goatskin. His hideout’s location is below, so you can go there without Mary telling you, or you can conspire to trap him. The latter is what you’ll have to do if you want to follow the quest and if you fail the checks with Mary.

Chat with Madam Beata, the bathhouse’s proprietress, to learn about a German merchant named Udo who’s there for a visit. Find him in the bathhouse and intimidate him into going home. Follow him, and Goatskin will appear to rob Udo

If you don’t need or want to set a trap for him, Goatskin’s hideout is behind the tailor’s near the bathhouse. The easiest way to reach it is to enter the alley east of the tailor’s sign, enter the barn – it’s trespassing, but no one will stop you – and climb into the loft. There’s a small opening at the other end of the loft. Crawl through it, hope down, climb the other ladder, and exit into another alleyway. Enter the loft in front of you, and you’ll find Goatskin.
Ask Goatskin about Samuel when he starts yammering, and you’ll have another set of checks to pass. Impression is the easiest, classed as medium, and if you picked up the Schindel’s Toys quest from the bathhouse, now’s the time to pursue that line of inquiry as well.

Goatskin gave you accurate information. Samuel is standing around the synagogue during the day and spends his time in the King Solomon tavern at night, both of which are in the city’s northern section. Speak to Samuel, and convince him to work with you.
I am sure Samuel knows a lot, but I do not see why he should tell you
- All the checks are easy, and the outcome is the same regardless of which you pick or if you fail

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Into the Underworld: Infiltrate the antisemites’ meeting
This next step is fairly straightforward. Travel to the spot marked G on your map, make sure you’re armed and wearing armor, and wait until midnight or adjust the time if midnight is too far away. Defeat the two enemies who attack you, and that’s pretty much everything you have to do. The rest of the quest unfolds in a cutscene where you finally speak with Lichtenstein.
If your pockets are a bit lighter after all this wheeling and dealing, make sure to revisit Trosky at some point to get the Vidlak Bandit’s treasure and the Map Left by the Deceased for some extra cash and valuables you can sell.
