Love and Deepspace Abyssal Chaos: How to get all of Xavier’s endings in the Find Tobias commission
If you’ve engaged with Abyssal Chaos in Love and Deepspace even a little bit, you’ll already be at least somewhat familiar with the Find Tobias commission and Xavier’s story in it. That’s because your trusty golden retriever work-and-maybe-more partner once again stepped up to help tutorialise you on this endgame roguelike mode, bless him.
Find Tobias isn’t quite as involved as its sequel Final Farewell, but there are still multiple endings to search for when exploring the commission with each lad (save Caleb, who sits this one out due to not having been in the game when it was released). There are four outcomes to uncover with Xavier as your companion, so to make sure you see all of them, read on for details of every Abyssal Chaos Find Tobias Xavier ending, and the exact steps you need to follow to unlock them.
LaDS Abyssal Chaos Find Tobias: All Xavier Endings
There are four possible endings to the Find Tobias commission with Xavier, and while the routes to getting some of them aren’t unique, we’ve tested these answer combinations and can confirm that they’ll get you where you want to go. If you want to 100% the commission with Xavier, be sure to maximise the amount of different outcomes you get to experience along the way by choosing different dialogue options every time there’s a free choice!
Below are the right choices to make for each of Xavier’s endings in Find Tobias.
Ending 1: Missing
Answers by scene:

Missing is technically the “fail-state” ending of the Find Tobias commission, and the game will clearly flag it as such when you reach Choice #2 in the second story node. However, as failed missions go it’s quite a sweet one that results in a completely different (and slightly shorter) route compared to the main story, so well worth seeing if you’re an Xavier fan and/or a completionist looking to secure all outcomes and endings.
Ending 2: Closer to the Truth

Closer to the Truth is the first of two standard “good” endings to Find Tobias, although Xavier (like all the other companions) gets a unique spin on it for his route. To secure this ending, the key decision happens in the fifth story node, where you must pick the correct dialogue choice to proceed along this ending route.
Ending 3: Questions Lingered Like Mist

Questions Lingered Like Mist is the second of the two standard “good” endings to Find Tobias, although Xavier (like all the other companions) gets a unique spin on it for his route. To secure this ending, the key decision happens in the fifth story node, where you must avoid the wrong dialogue choice to proceed along this ending route.
Ending 4: Rainfall’s Small World

Rainfall’s Small World is the unique ending exclusive to Xavier’s route in the Find Tobias commission, and can only be selected if you made the right choices to obtain his special mission item earlier in the commission. However, after that point you can make any choices you like (as long as you don’t end up on the Missing route), so this is a good opportunity to check out some alternate dialogue choices if you haven’t already.
