While you’ll probably want to try every companion combination eventually in Love and Deepspace‘s Abyssal Chaos endgame roguelike mode, Zayne is a pretty smart pick for an early run of the Final Farewell commission. After all, who better to accompany you on your reconnaissance of an abandoned medical facility than your pal who’s a doctor? Said doctor being really, really hot is obviously just a nice bonus.
Seeing every possible outcome in LaDS’ endgame investigations comes with plenty of rewards, and while it’s not a waste of time to get the same ending on multiple runs, the most efficient way to play is to aim for a different ending with every playthrough. To that end, read on for details of every Abyssal Chaos Final Farewell Zayne ending, and the exact steps you need to follow to unlock them.
LaDS Abyssal Chaos Final Farewell: All Zayne Endings
There are six total endings to the Final Farewell commission with Zayne; however, two of them are minor variants on a couple of others, so you only need to play through the commission four times in total to unlock all the outcomes – assuming you pick all the correct answers, that is.
Below are the right choices to make for each of Zayne’s endings in Final Farewell.
Ending 1: Devour
Answers by scene:
- Final Farewell I: Investigate.
- Final Farewell II: We’re doctors researching palliative care.
- Final Farewell III: Finish the game.
- Final Farewell IV: Hide behind the medicine cabinet.
- Final Farewell V: Find more records.
- What Endures: We’re investigating this facility.
Devour is the standard ending to Final Farewell that you tend to get if your decisions didn’t unlock any other special outcomes for the finale. In the case of Zayne’s route, there’s not much to indicate what the “right” choices are to get the more unique endings, so this is likely to be the one you’ll see if you just go with your gut to make choices on a first playthrough. However, you can follow these steps if you’re still missing Devour and want to guarantee that you see it.
Ending 2: Lost

Lost is a “secret” ending to Final Farewell that unlocks via a hidden combat node, reached on Zayne’s route by sticking to a rather outlandish cover story when questioned about the reasons behind your mission. You could regard this as the “bad” ending to Final Farewell, but there are no actual consequences outside of a comparatively downbeat end to the story, and you’ll even get an achievement for completing the hidden combat event.
Endings 3 & 4: Twilight / Moments

Following these steps exactly will unlock two endings simultaneously: Twilight and Moments, the latter being a variation on the former with an extra scene unlocked by a special mission item. At the end of the commission, the Moments end card will display, but your endings tracker will correctly show that you’ve unlocked both.
If you want to unlock Twilight separately at any point to see its end card, simply make the opposite choice during Final Farewell III (“Finish the game” instead of “Search the area”) so that you don’t pick up the first special mission item, and otherwise follow the steps for Moments.
Endings 5 & 6: New Adventure / This Life, This Moment
