Love and Deepspace birthdays: A complete list of LaDS birthday events and rewards

0

Love and Deepspace may feature its fair share of fighting weird aliens with futuristic weapons, but it’s still very much a dating and social sim that knows what its players like. And who doesn’t love a birthday party?

LaDS’ five (and counting) romanceable characters all have their own birthday events that take place at the appropriate time of year, while the player too has the chance to celebrate their real-world birthday in the game (or alternatively, celebrate a birthday on whatever day they felt like pretending was their birthday — you call, really).

Much like your real-world social calendar, there’s a fair bit to keep track of. Read on for details of what to expect from Love and Deepspace’s birthday events.

Love and Deepspace: Love Interests’ Birthdays

Each romanceable character in Love and Deepspace has a canonical birthday. You can view the details on their character card within the About Him tab of the With Him menu, but here’s all the key dates for your reference below:

Character Birthday Event dates
Rafayel March 6th 2024: Mar. 1-82025: Mar. 1-8
Sylus April 18th 2025: TBC
Caleb June 13th 2025: TBC
Zayne September 5th 2024: Aug. 31-Sep. 62025: TBC
Xavier October 16th 2024: Oct. 10-172025: TBC

Naturally, no live service game is going to let a main character’s birthday pass unremarked, and that’s extra true for gacha games. Whenever one of the LaDS lads’ birthdays rolls around, there’s a whole in-game event for you to celebrate, featuring unique time-limited story missions and rewards, and a special banner for that character’s birthday Memories.

The three original love interests had birthday events in 2024, so we know the approximate dates we can expect to see their celebrations take place again this year, as well as the sort of content we can expect. Sylus and Caleb — who were introduced later — haven’t yet had in-game birthdays; but by coincidence, at the time of writing Sylus’ inaugural birthday event is expected to begin within a day or two, so we’ll update this page with more information very soon.

For LaDS’ romanceable characters, birthday events last between seven and eight real-world days, with the actual birthday itself usually on the second- or third-to-last day of the event. This makes it slightly tough to predict exactly when future birthday events will appear, since there’s apparently no hard rule as to what day of the week the event starts, how long it will last, or the exact relation of the dates to the actual birthday. However, if you start checking in about a week before a character’s stated birthdate, you will soon see the event crop up.

Love and Deepspace birthday events

While every love interest’s birthday event in Love and Deepspace has its own theming based on the character’s unique history and personality, there’s a clear pattern to what you can expect:

  • A four-part limited-time mission series depicting the character’s birthday celebrations accompanied by the player.
  • A cake-baking mini game.
  • An event shop using a special currency unique to the event, where you can buy a special outfit and a 3-star birthday memory for the character.
  • A limited-time banner where you can pull for a 5-star birthday memory for the character.
  • A cake desk ornament as reward for completing the event.

Love and Deepspace: Player Birthday

Players also get to enjoy a week-long birthday event in Love and Deepspace, beginning on the day that you entered as your birthday when setting up your profile, and lasting for a full seven days.

The first time you log-in during this period, you’ll be treated to a surprise party, with every love interest sending you a very in-character birthday greeting and a unique gift. The lads will greet you starting with whoever you have the highest Affinity with, but even if you’re not romancing every character, they’ll all still line up to wish you a happy birthday and give you a decorative item you can apply in the With Him menu.

You can replay the whole shindig for the remainder of the event duration. You’ll also be able to revisit each individual birthday greeting from the relevant character’s Love Timeline even after the event ends.

Additionally, you’ll receive a piece of birthday mail from the devs, under the guise of the grateful residents of Linkon City. It contains 5 Empyrian Wishes, 500 Diamonds, five bottles of 5-star memory upgrade materials, three Stamina replenishment drinks, and two celebratory photo stickers.

Note that Love and Deepspace uses the Chinese date formatting system, so if you want to enter your real birthday you should be sure to format it as MM/DD (take note, my fellow Europeans!). You can change your birthday later, but it requires a Birthday Edit Pass which can only be bought with real money, so it’s worth getting it right the first time if you’re fussed.
