Love and Deepspace Memory Pairs explained

0

You might have noticed that some Memories in Love and Deepspace appear with a two-letter code in the top right-hand corner of their card. And, as with many features in LaDS, the game doesn’t exactly go out of its way to explain what this is about.

In fact, this code indicates that the Memory is one half of a Memory Pair – duos of Solar Memories that grant unique benefits if equipped together during a battle. Knowing what each shorthand code refers to can be very useful if you’ve pulled one Memory in a pair and want to keep an eye out for the other – as there’s a significant benefit to equipping a Memory Pair before going into battle.

Read on for everything you need to know about Memory Pairs – such as how to activate an Active Pair Bonus and increase your Duo Rank, and a full list of Memory Pairs in Love and Deepspace.

What do Memory Pairs do in Love and Deepspace?

When selecting your team for a battle in Love and Deepspace, you can only choose two Solar Memories to equip, so they’ll often form the backbone of your party set-up. However, just because you equip two Solar Memories together doesn’t mean they’re a Memory Pair: that status only belongs to Memories which share the two-letter code on the card indicating that they can be equipped together to activate a bonus effect.

Only 4- and 5-Star Solar Memories can be part of a Memory Pair in Love and Deepspace, meaning that no 3-Star Solar Memories are paired. Pairs are always of the same Stellacrum (colour) and rarity, and their names often (but not always) begin with the same word.

Equipping both paired Memories in the same team activates an Active Pair Bonus.

For 4-Star Memory Pairs, this follows a standard pattern:

  • Team DMG output increases by 5% (base effect)
  • Ardent Oath charge increases by 10% (Duo Rank 1)
  • Team DMG taken reduces by 5% (Duo Rank 2)
  • Team DMG output increases by 5% (Duo Rank 3)

Duo Rank levels increase when duplicates of both Memories are pulled from the gacha. Duplicates Memories in LaDS can be used to Rank Up the associated Memory up to three times for helpful base stat boosts. (Further duplicates after Rank 3 has been attained are converted into Heartsand currencies instead.)

By contrast, 5-Star Memory Pairs have unique base and Duo Rank effects that complement the exclusive content they bring with them. This is because every 5-Star Solar Memory in LaDS is affiliated with a Myth story, and once both halves of a Myth Pair are owned, you also unlock an alternate Companion kit (for the LI) and weapon (for the protagonist). Myth Pairs are the strongest combat cards in the game, and they’re incredibly powerful when deployed as a Duo alongside their unique powers.

List of Memory Pairs in Love and Deepspace
