How to Reach Champion Rank in Verge / Arena Mode with Matchmaking Magic

This is a short guide. Players who have played games with ELO systems, like chess or DOTA, will understand it fast.
Right now, the game lets any player play ranked games with anyone, no matter their rank. The game tries to find an enemy team with a similar ELO to yours to make it fair. This sounds good, but it’s not.
Let’s say you have two friends who are Diamond or Master, just like you. All three of you want to reach Champion rank. You just need to make a new account for each of your friends. Then follow these steps:
- One player uses their main account (Master). The other two use their new accounts (Bronze V).
- Play ranked until you win. The game will match you against Silver and Gold players. This should be an easy win.
- The player who used their main account switches with one of the players who used a new account.
- Keep doing step 3 until all three players have used their main accounts.
- All three players use their new accounts and lose three games. This keeps their rank at Bronze V.
- Do this again.
This is a bit boring, but it will give you wins every time. It will also help all three players reach ranks they probably couldn’t get to otherwise.
How to Stop People from Cheating The Matchmaking?
A) When players are in a team, make the rank of all team members the same as the highest-ranked player on the team. For example, if one player is Master, all three players should be treated as Master, even if they are Bronze V.
- Good things: You can play with any friend, no matter their rank. You will find games quickly.
- Bad things: Games might not be fair if the real rank difference is very big.
B) Don’t let players make teams with players who have more than a two-rank difference.
- Good things: Games will be much more fair for everyone.
- Bad things: You won’t be able to play ranked with friends who have very different ranks. You will have to wait longer to find games.
Besides choosing A or B, the casual mode should let players get medals and finish quests. This way, players can play with their friends to complete these things. In casual mode, just keep the current matching system.
