How to Play with/against Morgoth
When you play
1st skill
- It is passive damage to enemy warlord at the end of every turn.
2nd skill
- Board wipe (turn 3-5): try to only use this when there is a high priority target on the enemy side of the field with enough attack to die from this skill(the damage of this skill depends on the attack of the enemies, so low attack-high hp targets usually won’t die from this in one turn).
3rd skill
- Summon Soulbinders: this skill is most effective when you have at least 3 empty melee spaces and at least one ranged hero in the field or ready to play.It should be used as soon as turn 5 hits to gain optimal board control or turning the tables against the enemy unless you are facing an enemy morgoth;in that case, you should wait for the enemy to use their soul binders first and then play yours to counter it(the hero Aharin is an exception to this rule).
When the opponent plays
1st skill
- It is passive damage to enemy warlord at the end of every turn.
2nd skill
- Board wipe (always happens on turn 3): since you know the enemy will always use this skill on the 3rd turn regardless of what you have on the board, it is a common strategy during the first 3 turns to play heroes:
- With low attack and high hp or special survival conditions:
- Arachne/Apollo/Eostre/Arthur/Freddy/Airavata/Koba/Tinker/Apep, etc.
- Immune heroes: Mr flap, Cherno, Ysthmala, etc.
Buildings: Tesla X, Void jewel, etc.
Openers: Charon, Mizu, Tnt, Aphrodite, Ballz, etc.
3rd skill
- Summon Soulbinders (always happens on turn 5): how to deal with it?
- Disabling enemy tiles: Preventively using heroes that summon runes that can freeze/kill/injure enemies as soon as they appear on the ranged tiles(Tnt,mizu, apep, yuri, etc)
- Partially block: Intentionally allowing 2 or more melee enemies alive by turn 5 will mitigate the potential damage since there will be less space for enemy soulbinders to appear(enemy heroes like Mosura/Shaamona/Druid will block multiple melee spaces).
- Brace for impact: Preventively using heroes that will soak the soulbinder damage to your board gives you an opportunity to survive that turn and potentially counter it.
- Mental shield heroes: Apollo, Amaterasu, Charon, Shaamona, Life Tent, etc.
- Hard to remove heroes: Mr Flap, Cherno, Ysthmala, Lizard prince, Airavata, Coba, Freddy, etc.
- Cannon fodder summoners: Flos, Nilen, Tai Ling, The Easter Bunny, Lotrix, etc.
