Nightreign Revenant build guide
The Revenant is Nightreign’s eighth and final Nightfarer, and while her kit takes some getting used to, she’s a complete powerhouse once you know how best to utilise her skills and abilities. Capable of summoning spirits to take aggro and saving her team from death using her Utimate, the Revenant is a support character through and through, but she can definitely hold her own ground if need be.
While initially squishy, the Revenant really shines once she’s a few levels and some powerful Sacred Seals to wield, and here’s our Nightreign Revenant build guide to help you with making the most of her.

Nightreign Revenant skills, passives, and art
The Revenant’s kit consists of the following Passive Ability, Skill, and Ultimate:
- Passive Ability: Necromancy – can summon ghosts of enemies to fight as allies. They last for around a minute and are limited to the area they’ve been summoned in.
- Character Skill: Summon Spirit – play a lyre to summon one of free spirits into battle. These are Helen the Page, Sebastian the Skeleton, and Frederick the Pumpkin Head.
- Ultimate Art: Immortal March – release a vengeful ire to make self and nearby allies immortal temporarily (not to be confused with invincibility). If hit, the player remains standing on 1HP, and if downed, the player is automatically revived.
As you can see from the Revenant’s kit, she’s a highly supportive character who’ll actively benefit from taking down mobs (especially ones that spawn alongside bosses), as she can then summon these to fight alongside her. Her summons, while they can do damage, are best used as distractions, giving your team less aggro to manage and allowing them to secure more attacks.
Meanwhile, the Revenant and her Faith stat (which has S scaling!) can contribute to the fight from a distance with Sacred Seals and Incantations. This is best for her as she’s a low HP character who can easily be overwhelmed, but if her summons are distracting foes enough, she can weave in and out of close-range with Faith-scaling melee weapons if you fancy.
And given that the Revenant favours Faith weapons, this means you’ve a whole arsenal of some of Elden Ring’s most fun weapons to look out for, such as Envoy’s Greathorn, Blasphemous Blade, and the Eclipse Shotel to name a few.
Best Revenant team synergies in Nightreign
As a support character first and foremost in Nightreign, Revenant can be quite easily teamed up with any selection of Nightfarer’s and everyone will benefit from having her on the field, especially with her aggro-taking summons.
That said, Revenant is quite squishy in terms of her health pool and often wants to keep some distance from the boss. So if you plan on taking her into an Expedition alongside other low-HP Nightfarer’s such as the Recluse, Duchess, or Ironeye, you’ll ideally want to bring along someone who can help with tanking damage such as Wylder or Raider. This doesn’t mean that three-Revenant compositions can’t work though, and I sure as hell look forward to trying that out for myself.
More specific synergies with the Revenant’s kit include the Duchess. With Revenant’s summons the field drawing aggro away from the team, these help provide the Duchess with even more opportunities for backstabs. Similarly, the distractions that the Revenant’s summons create means ranged characters such as Ironeye or the Recluse can continue to safely chip away at a boss from a distance without catching its attention (most of the time).
As mentioned, though, if your team composition has two ranged characters, you don’t really want to leave Revenant’s poor Sebastian or Frederick to draw all of the aggro, as their HP can be depleted very quickly by bigger bosses. In these instances, try to bring along Raider, Wylder, or Guardian to help manage boss aggro and tank damage where needed.

Best Revenant relics and passive effects in Nightreign
When it comes to relic traits and passive equipment effects in Nightreign, there are a few different things to look out for that can compliment the Revenant’s kit nicely.
First and foremost, Revenant is a character who – if making the most of her Faith stat and using Incantations – will need consistent access to FP. As a result, the main Relic traits and passive effects you want to look out for should include the following:
- Increased Maximum FP
- Reduced FP Consumption
- Successive Attacks Restore FP
- Anything that boosts the power of or scales off of Incantations, if you’re using them
The above also applies to the Dormant Power drops left behind by bosses. Sometimes, these include weapons with passive effects, but they also include standalone buffs that can be the same as or similar to passive effects. Though, Dormant Powers are often stronger than the passives your average, standard weapon will provide. If you see any Dormant Powers that help with generating FP, take them!
While relics and their traits are largely randomised in Nightreign, the relics you acquire from Nightlords, Remembrance quests, and the Small Jar Bazaar remain fixed. As a result, there are a few specific Relics you can consider equipping depending on which Urns, Chalices, and Goblets you have unlocked for the Revenant. These are as follows:
- Night of the Wise (dropped by Sentient Pest): Increased Maximum FP, starting armament inflicts Poison, and Poison and Rot in the vicinity increases attack power.
- Night of the Fathom (dropped by Augur): Increased Maximum HP, Flasks also heal allies, and items confer effect to all nearby allies.
- Besmirched Flame (you purchase this to unlock Revenant): Taking attacks improves attack power, Faith +3
Night of the Wise – which is dropped by Nightlord, Sentient Pest – is great for Revenant. It increases her FP which is something we regularly want to look for when building Revenant, but it also causes her starting armament to inflict Poison instead of Frost. And when Poison is in the vicinity, which it should be if you’re using her weapon, her attack power is also increased. This is particularly good if going up against fast bosses, as you can use Poison to slow them down and make them more manageable.
On the other hand, Night of the Fathom – which is dropped by Nightlord, Augur – is a great supportive Relic that you can equip to near enough any Nightfarer, but compliments Revenant’s already supportive kit further by allowing her own flasks to heal allies and her items to confer effects to allies when close by. It also gives her a slight increase to her HP, which is great given she’s one of few Nightfarer’s with a smaller HP bar to be wary of.
Besmirched Flame is the item needed to unlock the Revenant, but you can later equip it as a Relic. This turns any incoming damage that Revenant receives into attack power and also boosts her Faith even further, meaning the Relic ultimately increases how much damage Revenant can do. It makes more of a difference than you might think too! Alternatively, any preferred Relics that happen to boost Revenant’s Faith stat or Mind/FP consumption are great.
Some Relics will come with unique traits that can only be applied to the Revenant. One of these, which can be found on blue Relics – Polished Drizzly Scenes – allows the Revenant to expend her HP to fully heal allies upon activation of her Art. This is risky, given it’s using up the Revenant’s own HP, but if your allies are the ones dealing the brunt of the damage or being up close and personal with bosses, it can be well worth it.
There’s also red Relics – Polished Burning Scenes – that can come with the Revenant-exclusive trait of boosting her attack power while fighting alongside family (her summons). And last, but not least, if you don’t have anything to aid with boosting Revenant’s FP consumption/regeneration, any Relic traits that aid with refilling her Ultimate Art gauge quicker are great given that her Ultimate can come in clutch often and save runs from failure.
