Oblivion Remastered Oblivion Gate locations
With his dying breath, the legendary Emperor, Uriel Septim IV, bid you to “close shut the jaws of Oblivion”. Who knew he meant literally?
Known as the Oblivion Crisis in Elder Scrolls lore, the events of Oblivion Remastered see giant Oblivion Gates, portals to the daedric realm of Oblivion, opening all over Tamriel, spewing demons known as daedra into the countryside.
To defeat the daedra and remove the threat to the citizens of Cyrodiil, you need to battle your way through each Oblivion Gate you find and remove the Sigil Stone. These powerful objects allow you to imbue your items and equipment with incredible enchantments, allowing you to create your own magical weapons and gear whatever your experience with magic.
However, Oblivion Gates are also some of the best sources of normal loot in all of Oblivion Remastered. As well as Daedric weapons and equipment, you can find enchanted items including the best bow in Oblivion if you know where to look.
Even more so than the caves and mines throughout the world, Oblivion Gates are plentiful and convenient ways to grind up your combat skills, collect gold by selling items and generally progress your character in the world of Oblivion Remastered.
Oblivion Gates have set spawn locations throughout Cyrodiil, and while many are tied to specific main story quests, most of them will randomly appear after the events in the city of Kvatch.
Remember though, the whole point of the main story is to shut the Oblivion Gates for good. Once you’ve completed the campaign, you won’t be able to access any, so make off with all the loot you can carry before you do!
