Overkill Software announced the third instalment of its co-op heist FPS series last year, revealing some titbits of information about Payday 3. Now, the recent logo reveal trailer has confirmed it’s coming in 2023.
If you’re yet to polish off the Payday 2 achievements, you might want to begin tackling it soon if you’d like it finished before starting the next instalment, as Chains, Dallas, Hoxton, and Wolf will return in Payday 3 later this year.
Payday 3 launching in 2023, teaser trailer confirms
As far as teaser trailers go, Overkill has ensured that the logo trailer above is the easiest of teases. Not a pinch of gameplay has been revealed, only the logo and the news that we’ll be able to begin the heisting once again in 2023. Its predecessor is currently part of the Xbox Game Pass library, so it’ll be interesting to see if we see Payday 3 join our growing list of games coming to Game Pass at some point.
From the game’s original announcement, we do know the awesome four will be making a return in Payday 3, which is set in New York City some seven years after the events of Payday 2. Pulled out of retirement, Chains, Dallas, Hoxton, and Wolf load up with new gadgets designed for the digital age, where cryptocurrencies, software giants, mass surveillance, and the Dark Web offer a lucrative payday for those inclined to take what they want.
With the game set to launch this year, we hope to see some gameplay soon — there is probably a hacker joke to be had here, but that would be distasteful. Will you be looking forward to this next dive into the criminal underworld? Drop a comment below and let us know!
