One of this year’s major Roblox events is just around the corner and this time it’s bigger than ever. Roblox’s The Hunt: Mega Edition is the return of what now seems to be a series of regular, platform-wide events running around Easter and Halloween each year.
Enlisting the help of dozens of the top-performing games from across the world of Roblox, the Roblox company is tasking players with special challenges to unlock event-limited prizes and a grand prize overall. In the Mega Edition, that grand prize is $1million in cash, or “ultra-rare digital items” if you’re under 13.
You can join in with the wider event itself, or just enjoy new tie-in content in some of your most-played games. But either way, here’s everything you need to know about The Hunt: Mega Edition!
Roblox The Hunt: Mega Edition Start Date and Time
If this event follows the same format as the original Hunt, then The Hunt: Mega Edition will start on Thursday March 13th at around 5PM GMT.
- 5PM UK Time
- 6PM Central European Time
- 1PM Eastern Time
- 10AM Pacific Time
- Midday Central Time
While the first edition of The Hunt went live on Friday March 15th, 2024, it stands to reason that the Mega Edition will also arrive around a similar time, but we’ll update the timings if they change.
As for the date, Roblox confirmed that via an official teaser on their YouTube channel:
According to IGN, The Hunt: Mega Edition will run until March 24th.
Roblox The Hunt: Mega Edition Content
In the original edition of The Hunt, players could log into 100 different games and collect badges and rewards. They did this by completing challenges specific to those different games. Completing those challenges also helped to climb a central leaderboard crowning the best players from around the world.
In the Mega Edition though, there are “more than 24” participating games, all with their own challenges.
The top ten players will then be invited to Roblox HQ in California to compete for the ultimate $1million prize in April after the digital event has finished.
As for the content of the challenges, “leakers” have suggested that each game will have both a unique quest and a hidden object to find. But these suggestions are unsubstantiated. With that said though, it would follow a similar format to previous Roblox events.
The futuristic lines of code in the reveal teaser suggest a return for the Infinite Vault, the mysterious hub location of the first edition Hunt, where players could easily find all of the participating games. In the second teaser, embedded above, you can see a Squid Game-style mob of players running through a futuristic landscape, hinting at a variety of games testing your “brains, skills and speed”.
However, the Halloween version of this event, The Haunt, also had games and puzzles within the actual hub itself to complete. So while one component will definitely see players jumping into different experiences, there could be more to the Mega Edition version of the Infinite Vault as well.
Roblox The Hunt: Mega Edition Confirmed Games List
Many of Roblox’s most popular experiences are participating in The Hunt: Mega Edition, and it’s not just one type of game either. Games from a variety of genres will have special integrations and more and more are being confirmed in the run-up to the event, including:
- Rivals – Nosiny Games
- SpongeBob Tower Defense – Wonder Works Studio
- Basketball Legends – InfinitySports
- IT GIRL – IT GIRL Magazine
While it’s not out of the question, it’s highly likely that only completely original and officially licensed Roblox experiences will be included in The Hunt. This means that a few of Roblox’s most-loved games, such as Blox Fruits and other anime-inspired games, probably won’t be on the list due to the legal grey area their use of licensed characters operates in.
However, that also means we’d expect to see games like Sol’s RNG and Pet Simulator 99 all join in the fun!
