Xbox has announced that Bandai Namco‘s Scarlet Nexus is coming to Game Pass today.
The news was announced during Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show presentation, where Xbox corporate vice president Sarah Bond confirmed that the title was being added.
“Game Pass truly is the best way to discover and play your next favourite game,” Bond stated. “And I’m pleased to share that today you can jump in and play the incredible RPG Scarlet Nexus from Bandai Namco with Xbox Game Pass.”
The presentation also showed a trailer for the game stating that new DLC content was “coming soon”.
It was claimed in June that Microsoft had secured the title as a day one release for its subscription service, similar to how it signed Square Enix’s Outriders earlier this year.
However, when asked to comment on the claims, a Bandai Namco spokesperson issued a straight denial to VGC.
Revealed in May 2020 during the first Xbox Series X gameplay showcase, Scarlet Nexus takes place in a distant future in which a group of psionic soldiers called the OSF represents humanity’s last hope in a battle against brain-eating mutants known as Others.
The game was released in June 2021 and was critically well-received. An anime series accompanying the game also started in July.
