The two new notebooks Geforce RTX 4080 and Geforce RTX 4090 have appeared in the Geekbench database. By comparison, both models are significantly faster than the new flagship of Nvidias.

CES 2023 will finally take off this week, and the electronics fair should be particularly interesting for gamers. We’re all planning our own keynotes. These will show new products. When it comes to Nvidia, the production of the Geforce RTX 4070 Ti (at least) is expected; the company should also give the first RTX 4000 GPUs to notebooks.

Almost no one knows what these new notebook GPUs are, which apparently reveal the first details. First of all: Nvidia apparently wants to present at CES the mobile version of the Geforce RTX 4080 and the Geforce RTX 4090. And fittingly, these two GPUs have recently arrived in Geekbench.

According to Geekbench, the Geforce RTX 4090 Mobile was discovered in a notebook known as the X370SNx. The Geforce RTX 4080 Mobile appeared in a Predator PH16-71. Both notebooks also contained the Intel Core i9-13900HX and 32 GB of RAM.

The OpenCL benchmark was based on this hardware. 210 290 points and 178 038 points were achieved in the corresponding OpenCL benchmark. According to Videocardz, the RTX 4090 Mobile would be slightly faster than the RTX 3090 (desktop) and at least 54 percent faster than the current notebook, the RTX 3080 Ti Mobile. The new Geforce RTX 4080 Mobile was more powerful than the old flagship by about 30 percent.

The performance alone of OpenCL is of course a modest indicator of the total performance, so no overrated rating should be added. On the other hand, slight fluctuations are possible, particularly in notebooks, as well as in the form of the TDP and the cooling. Both of the two GPUs’ hardware can thus have a little more meaning and the Geekbench entries even reveal a lot of details here.

According to this, the Geforce RTX 4090 Mobile should have 76 compute units with a clock speed of 2,040 MHz. Speaking about memory expansion, there is also talk of 16 GB, while the RTX 4080 mobile should only only have 12 GB and 58 compute units at 2,010 MHz. If the leaked data is correct, the RTX 4090 mobile should be built on the AD103 chip of the RTX 4080 (desktop), and the AD104 GPU of the RTX 4070 Ti would be suitable for the RTX 4080 Mobile. Of course, if there are such leaks, it’s not completely clear whether all this will happen. However, it shouldn’t take too long for Nvidia to release detailed information.
