The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies cheats
The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies wears a lot of different hats. Part spiritual successor to some of the systems introduced in TS4’s very first expansion pack Get To Work, B&H lets your Sims run small businesses from either their home or another owned lot, while also allowing you to define a small business or a hobby out of just about any skill that’s available in the game. It also introduces the pottery skill, and significantly overhauls the game’s tattoo options – which now have their own section on the gallery.
So there’s quite a bit going on, and it might take you a while to really delve into some of the rather disparate new features this pack includes. To help you with that, we’ve listed every cheat in The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies.
On this page:
How to use cheats in The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies
As a general rule, before attempting any cheats in The Sims 4, you want to enable testing cheats. While not every cheat in TS4 requires this in order to work, the vast majority do, so we always recommend this as a starting point.
To enable testing cheats, first press Ctrl + Shift + C if you’re playing on PC/Mac, or hold down all four shoulder buttons simultaneously on Xbox/PlayStation.
This will bring up the cheat console, where you need to type testingcheats true. Enter this cheat and you should receive a notification that cheats have been enabled. You can now use any cheats from further down the page by simply typing them in and hitting enter.
If you want to turn testing cheats off again once you’re done, bring up the console again and type testingcheats false. You should receive a notification that cheats have been disabled.
Using console cheats and debug cheats in TS4 is generally very safe – these are tools included in the game by the developers, after all, and their use is not only acknowledged by EA/Maxis but actively encouraged. But there’s always a low risk of something going awry. I recommend backing up your favourite saves often just to be on the safe side.
The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies trait cheats

The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies skill cheats
Businesses & Hobbies introduces two new skills to The Sims 4: pottery and tattooing. Both of these are major adult skills with 10 levels of mastery.
Your Sims can acquire either skill instantly using the following cheats:
Skill | Cheat | Value range of [X] |
---|---|---|
Pottery | stats.set_skill_level Major_Pottery [X] | 1-10 |
Tattooing | stats.set_skill_level Major_Tattooing [X] | 1-10 |
Replace [X] with the desired number within the value range to instantly raise the active Sim’s skill to that level.
The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies skill mastery perks cheats
Skill mastery perks are a brand-new aspect to your Sims’ skill list introduced in Businesses & Hobbies. In ordinary gameplay, Sims who have maxed out a skill may randomly roll a related perk, or purchase one using a potion (bought from the Reward Store with 8,000 Satisfaction Points). Or you could just use the cheats below, of course.
Perk Name | Effect | Apply with… |
---|---|---|
Active Aura | Unlocks an equippable aura which grants nearby Sims +50% boost to active skill gains | traits.equip_trait AuraActive |
Aspirational Creator | +10 Satisfaction Points when crafting excellent quality items | traits.equip_trait AspirationalCreator |
Aspirational Thinker | +20 Satisfaction Points for practicing a mental skill | traits.equip_trait AspirationalThinker |
Creative Aura | Unlocks an equippable aura which grants nearby Sims +50% boost to creative skill gains | traits.equip_trait AuraCreative |
Final Touch | A new unique interaction allows the Sim to upgrade any crafted item’s quality by one level | traits.equip_trait FinalTouch |
In the Zone | When skill building, the Sim’s needs stop decaying for 4 in-game hours or until they cease work on the skill | traits.equip_trait InTheZone |
Mental Aura | Unlocks an equippable aura which grants nearby Sims +50% boost to mental skill gains | traits.equip_trait AuraMental |
Mental Muscles | Sim gains +15% fitness skill from practicing mental skills, but will lose -30% fitness skill gain if they haven’t practiced a mental skill in a while | We’re still working on figuring out how to equip this perk via cheats! |
Pigeonholed | +100% gain to skills of the named type, but -50% gain to skills of all other types (note that there are four mutually-exclusive variants on this perk) |
|
Powerful Performer | When performing, gains relationship with spectators and removes negative moodlets from nearby Sims | traits.equip_trait PowerfulPerformer |
Second Wind | 50% chance that during an exercise session the Sim’s bladder, energy, hunger, and hygiene needs will be maxed, while any fatigue and pulled muscle moodlets will be removed | traits.equip_trait SecondWind |
Secret Spice | A new unique interaction allows the Sim to upgrade any cooked item’s quality by one level | traits.equip_trait Spice |
Skillful Sleep | Sim learns skills while sleeping | We’re still working on figuring out how to equip this perk via cheats! |
Spacebender | Sim with sufficiently high mental skill(s) unlocks “Spacebend Here” interaction on terrain (functions identically to the “Teleport Here” debug cheat) | traits.equip_trait Spacebend |
Stellar Stamina | Sim’s energy decay is very low, and they are immune to the Dangerously Tired moodlet | We’re still working on figuring out how to equip this perk via cheats! |
Note that since skill perks are effectively treated as traits, you can remove any of them if you wish by replacing “equip” with “remove” in any of the above cheats.

The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies small business cheats
You can use debug cheats to modify your Sim’s small businesses in a couple of interesting ways.
To access this menu, enable testing cheats, shift+click on the Sim whose owned business you want to modify, and navigate to Pack Cheats > Expansion Packs > EP18. From here you’ll have two more sub-menus to choose from.
Your first option is to Change Small Business Renown. Clicking the Increase option immediately boosts your business to the next star level (with five stars being the highest possible and zero the lowest). If you have at least one star and want to Decrease your renown for whatever reason, you can do that here too.
The second option is to Set Small Business Alignment. Small Business Alignments in B&H work kind of like morality alignments in Dungeons & Dragons. They exist on a scale of 1-7, where 1 is “nefarious”, 7 is “virtuous”, and 4 is “neutral”; while the rest represent the areas in-between. You can freely pick any of these from the debug menu to instantly reap the benefits (and drawbacks) of each business alignment.
The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies CAS cheats (unlock all tattoos)
You may have noticed that when applying new tattoos in CAS, some of the pre-made designs are locked. While there isn’t a brand-new cheat in B&H to circumvent this, it does seem like a good time to remind you that you can enter the following cheat to unlock not just all tattoos, but every locked item in the CAS catalogue:
cas.unlockbytag
If the cheat has worked, you should see a list in the command console of all the items you’ve just unlocked. If you’re having trouble getting this one working, some users report that you need to already have cas.fulleditmode enabled, and that the cheat may only work when it’s inputted from within the CAS screen itself. Also, you might need to exit and re-enter the current tab to see everything that’s unlocked.
