The Sims 4 Forever Friends Event Guide: What it is, how can you take part, and what are the rewards?
The Sims 4’s Forever Friends event is the latest time-limited tie-in to a new expansion pack for the ever-popular life sim – which, incidentally, recently celebrated its 11th birthday. Appropriately enough, then, the Adventure Awaits DLC aims to give child Sims a lot more focus, although there’s something for everyone in the new pack that’s all themed around “getaways” (not vacations, even if they look rather similar to vacations…).
As the name might suggest, this event is focused on childhood friendship, and in particular the enduring affection a child can develop for a favourite toy. While this is obviously an intentional cross-promotion with the introduction of Imaginary Friend occult Sims in the upcoming expansion pack, this event doesn’t directly include them or require any DLC to complete, meaning that players who only have access to the base game don’t miss out.
Read on for an overview of every quest and reward in The Sims 4 Forever Friends event, as well as key event dates and FAQs.
What is the Forever Friends Event in The Sims 4?
Forever Friends is a limited-time event in The Sims 4, running from September 23rd to November 4th, 2025. The first four weeks will introduce new weekly quests and reward unlocks, while the final two weeks are a “grace period” to allow players to catch up and complete all parts of the event should they want to after joining late or taking a break.
The event begins automatically upon loading the game. During the event period, details of active, completed, and upcoming quests plus all rewards can be accessed any time by clicking the event widget (plumbob symbol) that appears in the top left-hand corner of the screen. You can also use this icon to minimise the event UI, although it can’t be dismissed altogether – unfortunately for those who prefer not to participate.
Rewards of common in-game items like books and potions, Satisfaction Points, as well as the event’s new collectable type (magnets), will be delivered to the inventory of whichever Sim is your active character when you claim them; but rewards that grant new Build/Buy items, recipes, and other event-exclusive goodies will be unlocked for all saves in your game going forward.

TS4 Forever Friends quests and tasks list
Forever Friends is composed of eight quests, two of which will unlock every week throughout the first four weeks of the event. Unlike some previous events in The Sims 4, both the quests themselves and most tasks within them unlock linearly, meaning that you’re following a set storyline rather than choosing which order you complete the event tasks in.
Also worth noting is that the Forever Friends event requires a child Sim in the active household in order to complete many of the tasks.
A New Journey – Week 1, Quest 1
- Buy a new stuffed animal.
- Have a child hug the stuffed animal.
- Place a stuffed animal near a TV. (Tip: After some trial and error, I discovered that you need to use the event-exclusive stuffed animal you unlocked upon logging in, and it needs to be within two squares of any TV, though not necessarily facing it.)
- Watch the Kids Network on TV.
- Buy a toybox.
- Place a stuffed animal near a toybox. (Tip: As above, “near” seems to mean “within two spaces in any direction” for the purposes of this event.)
- Play with a toy from the toybox.
- Place a stuffed animal near a bed. (Tip: As above, “near” seems to mean “within two spaces in any direction” for the purposes of this event.)
- Have a child sleep or nap.

Friends Forever – Week 1, Quest 2
- Have a Sim eat something. (Can be completed in any order alongside Tasks 2 & 3.)
- Use a toilet. (Can be completed in any order alongside Tasks 1 & 3.)
- Ask a stuffed animal about today’s adventures. (Can be completed in any order alongside Tasks 1 & 2.)
- Tell an adult about the problem. (Tip: This step unlocks after completing Task 3, even if Tasks 1 & 2 are incomplete.)
- Draw a plan. (Tip: The “plan” action can be found under the “draw” sub-category on the Activity Table interactions menu, and isn’t a special interaction for the event.)
- Have a child Sim share the plan with a stuffed animal.
- Optional: Buy the Kate & Berry Sweet Treats Fabricator 3000. (Requires the Businesses & Hobbies expansion pack.)
- Optional: Craft candy. (Note that Optional goals must be completed before the final core task in a quest, or else the quest will complete leaving them unfinishable.)
Lens of Imagination – Week 2, Quest 1
This quest unlocks on September 30th.
Shattered Visions – Week 2, Quest 2
This quest unlocks on September 30th.
Desperate Measures – Week 3, Quest 1
This quest unlocks on October 7th.
The Lens of Memories – Week 3, Quest 2
This quest unlocks on October 7th.
Gone but Never Forgotten – Week 4, Quest 1
This quest unlocks on October 14th.
Always with Me, Always with You – Week 4, Quest 2
This quest unlocks on October 14th.
TS4 Forever Friends rewards list
Completing tasks and quests as part of the Forever Friends event generates Event Points that unlock rewards. Rewards can be unlocked as soon as the EP requirement for them has been reached, so there’s no need to “spend” points to get rewards; it’s all cumulative, and you can just claim everything that you’ve unlocked from the event page.

The new magnet collection is themed around various classic worlds from The Sims 4 and — as players have been quick to point out — the so-called “San Myshuno” magnet in fact clearly features the mascot from Mt. Komorebi instead! We’ll have to wait and see if this little goof gets patched out later in the event.
Do I need to buy Sims 4 DLC to complete Forever Friends quests?
As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, despite the fact that the Forever Friends event is intended to promote the release of the Adventure Awaits expansion pack and the return of Imaginary Friends to the series, you don’t actually need to own this DLC in order to complete the event quests.
However, as is usually the case, players who own certain DLC will see additional quest tasks that they can complete in order to claim rewards slightly faster. However, this is strictly optional, and by the end of the event you’ll have earned enough Event Points to collect all rewards regardless of whether you participated in optional tasks.
So far, the following add-ons have introduced optional tasks into the Forever Friends event:
There are only two kinds of Sims players: those who admit to using money cheats, and those who lie about never having used money cheats. So that means no matter which group you fall into, you’re bound to like our The Sims 4 cheats page!
