Former EA Sports and Immutable execs Chris Bowden and David Daumas have joined Vulcan Forged as chief communications officer and chief marketing officer, respectively.
Ex-EA Sports and Immutable marketing leaders are joining Vulcan Forged
Vulcan Forged, a leading blockchain gaming studio, has appointed Chris Bowden as the new chief communications officer (CCO) and David Daumas as the new chief marketing officer (CMO). The announcement comes at a time when the firm is scaling up operations following its Series A funding in September.
Notably, both Chris Bowden and David Daumas were previously senior execs at Immutable and Electronic Arts. With more than 13 years of marketing experience, Bowden was most recently the global marketing director at Immutable, where he spent over three years helping the company grow from its $2 million valuation to a $2.5 billion valuation.
Prior to Immutable, Bowden enjoyed a 9-year career in APAC leadership roles at Electronic Arts, where he led localized marketing strategies in regions such as Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia & Greater China, India, Middle East, and Africa for some of the world-famous franchises including EA SPORTS FIFA and Battlefield.
“Empowering all gamers with true digital asset ownership is a revolution I am immensely passionate about, and I am thrilled to be helping Vulcan Forged achieve this exciting future for our industry,” said Bowden.
On the other hand, David Daumas is a seasoned marketing exec bringing over 15 years of experience. He was the global engagement and acquisition marketing manager at EA from 2014 to 2017, where he managed a portfolio of AAA games that included FIFA, UFC, and NHL. Afterward, he spent nearly five years in Flybuys before serving in senior marketing roles at Immutable and Absolute Labs.
“Bringing growth and retaining users with a clear marketing strategy has never been more challenging in this market,” said Daumas. “I’m excited to join the team at Vulcan Forged as we continue to define the gold standard for the industry and bridge best practices from Web2 into the excitement of Web3.”
Commenting on the latest C-suite hires, Vulcan Forged CEO Jamie Thomson said: “We’re delighted to have Chris and David join us. Vulcan Forged strives to be the best in the industry, and that’s why we’re hiring only seasoned, experienced and brightest workers in the gaming industry. Chris and David’s wealth of knowledge at AAA game studios and Web3 gaming blockchains make the perfect match for our marketing needs going forward.”
