Warhammer 40K: Darktide – Scriptures and Grimoires Explained

If you want to find out what Scriptures and Grimoires are, then be sure to read this article. It will give you the answers to your questions.

One of the important mechanics in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is the collection of Scriptures and Grimoires. Very often these are side objectives that you can complete to get additional rewards. In this article, we will talk about them and explain how they work.

As mentioned earlier Scriptures and Grimoires act as side activities during missions. Some quests may have Secondary Objectives involving the collection of these items. Completing them will allow you to earn additional rewards – money and Trust. Note, however, that they do not appear in all missions. You can check this on the right-hand side of the task selection screen.

Scriptures and Grimoires Function

The handling of Scriptures and Grimoires differs slightly, so we have discussed them in separate sections.

Scriptures take up space for an item. So you need to bear in mind that if you pick them up, you will not be able to carry Ammo or Medkit crate. However, you can drop them in an emergency. If you do, remember to pick them up again.

As with Scriptures, Grimoires will take the place of an item. However, they cannot be dropped. Instead, they can be used (key 3), but this will destroy them and you will not be able to complete the Secondary Objective.

In addition, picking up Grimoures will cause your health to decrease – you will be consumed by corruption (purple curse). You can only heal this at the medicae station. Remember about it, especially on higher difficulty levels.
