What does a Moon Idol do in Fisch?
Once in a Blue Moon in Fisch, when the conditions are just right, the magical moonlight will cause ancient and mysterious doors to open on Snowcap Island and Lushgrove giving intrepid anglers access to never before seen fishing spots full of unique, blue fish.
One of the more interesting catches from these Blue Moon spots are Moon Idols.
Moon Idols can be caught in both the First Sea and Second Sea in Fisch and give your rods a powerful boost if you can land one. According to the official Fisch Wiki, Moon Idols grant the “Moon-Kissed” buff, which not only increases your character’s XP gain, but also the potential revenue from all of your catches.
What does a Moon Idol do in Fisch?
Once caught, a Moon Idol applies the Moon-Kissed buff to the equipped fishing rod it was caught with, granting the following benefits:
- +50% XP boost for all fish caught
- 10% chance to double the weight of all fish caught
- 5% chance to catch fish with the Moon-Kissed Mutation, which increases sell value by 2.2x
- Applies a unique shimmering visual effect to the fishing rod the buff is applied to
Apparently, Moon Idols from the First Sea and Second Sea have exactly the same effect, just with a different name depending on where they’re caught.
The buff lasts for 24 hours – making it perfect for the current Animal Hunt event or any other spells of power fishing!
How to find a Moon Idol in Fisch
To get yourself a Moon Idol, you first need to wait for a Blue Moon weather event to occur, or trigger one yourself.
A natural Blue Moon has a low chance of spawning on clear nights during winter, but you can also trigger one manually using a Blue Moon Totem which you can purchase from Lushgrove in the Second Sea (provided it’s also a clear night in Winter). You can use other totems to speed up the celestial cycle and force the correct weather conditions too.
Once the Blue Moon has risen, you can make your way to either Snowcap Island in the First Sea or Lushgrove in the Second Sea. There, near the docks, there’s an ancient-looking stone door with a blue moon emblem carved into the rock.
When the Blue Moon is in the sky, these doors will open, revealing the unique fishing spots inside.
Moon Idols are secret rarity catches from these special areas.
