What to do with the Frog Key in 99 Nights in the Forest
In 99 Nights in the Forest, even the frogs are dangerous. These poisonous creatures burst from the ponds and waterways around the forest during the night and attack anyone who gets close to their lair.
However, the frogs are also hiding a secret. If you can collect enough Frog Keys from around the map you can take on the gigantic Frog Prince and claim rewards that help in your adventure.
Here’s everything you need to know about finding, and what to do with, Frog Keys in 99 Nights in the Forest.
Where to find Frog Keys in 99 Nights in the Forest
There are two main ways that you can find Frog Keys:
- As a random drop from Purple and Blue giant frogs
- From fishing spots in ponds marked with a glowing green key
The giant purple frogs tend to drop Frog Keys relatively frequently, whereas blue frogs drop them more rarely.
Alternatively, fishing up the keys doesn’t involve combat, but can take a while as you both track down the spots and sift through the other fish that you dredge up there before you land a key.
There isn’t a set amount of Frog Keys on a map though, so you can farm both frogs and fishing spots until you have what you need.
What to do with Frog Keys in 99 Nights in the Forest
Once you’ve got a Frog Key, look for a frog pond surrounded by croaking green guardians that has a gigantic, swirling whirlpool in the middle. You will know it’s the right pond because of the “no diving” sign next to it.

Ignore the sign and hop into the water, and you’ll be whisked underground to a locked cavern. You can unlock the door by collecting and slotting 8 Frog Keys into the keyholes.

Once you’ve slotted all 8 keys, the real test begins. This launches a combat gauntlet where you must take on ever-growing waves of frog enemies until you face the fearsome Frog Prince.
After the Frog Prince is defeated however, you gain access to the giant treasure chest at the back of the cave, which hopefully will contain a useful item which propels you forward in your quest to save the children and escape the forest.
If you’re struggling to defeat giant enemies like the Frog Prince, then maybe you need to save up to unlock a combat class. To make that a little bit easier, check out our 99 Nights in the Forest Codes page for some free diamonds.
