Where to find a Gillopod in Monster Hunter Wilds

After having captured and delivered both a Tracktail Lizard and Ember Rufflizard to Dareel in Monster Hunter Wilds, he will soon send you back to work. This time around, he requests that you find and bring him the elusive Gillopod, a slimy-looking creature that blends in with its environment.

The Gillopod’s ability to blend in with rocks and walls makes them relatively easy to miss, but to help you out with Dareel’s Research Report, here’s where to find a Gillopod in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Gillopods, not to be confused with the similarly shaped purple Pillopod, are found in Wyveria in Monster Hunter Wilds. They are flat, blue arthropods found on walls in areas of ‘high energy’, which explains why you’re most likely to find them deep in Wyveria, where Wylk is in abundance.

The spot in which you are most likely to find a Gillopod is Area 8 of Wyveria, just by the Gap in Rubble Pop-Up Camp. From the Pop-Up Camp, head back through the narrow path and take a right. There will be a flat wall to your right here, and you should see some Pillopods and/or Gillopods along the wall there.

Gillopods appear to be a little rarer than their purple counterparts, Pillopods, so don’t fret if you don’t see one right away. If one hasn’t yet appeared for you, try resting at your Pop-Up Camp again using Guild Points and ensure the conditions for the region are set to ‘Plenty’.

Sooner or later, a Gillopod will appear for you to catch. These guys fortunately don’t flee, so capture it using your Capture Net at your own pace.

Once that’s done, go ahead and report your findings to Dareel back at the Windward Plains Base Camp!
