Where to find the Dam Data Store Keycard in Atomfall
If you’ve rocked up to the Dam Data Store in Atomfall’s Casterfell Woods early on in your playthrough, you’ll likely find that there isn’t all that much for you to do here without the Signal Redirector tool and the Dam Data Store Keycard. That’s because this particular facility is tied to Dr Garrow’s quest, who tasks you with coming here to run a console command for her.
If you’re hoping to find the Dam Data Store Keycard and see what the facility is truly used for, then you’re in the right place. Below, we’ve detailed exactly how to start Dr Garrow’s quest and as a result, how to get your hands on the Dam Data Store Keycard in Atomfall.
Where to find the Dam Data Store Keycard in Atomfall
To get your hands on the Dam Data Store Keycard in Atomfall, you first need to track down the NPC who happens to be in possession of it, and that’s Dr Garrow. Unfortunately, however, many notes found throughout Atomfall point to the scientist being locked up in Skethermoor Prison, which means it’s time for us to get to work on a prison break.
Now, there are two ways you can go about freeing Dr Garrow from Skethermoor Prison in Atomfall. These are as follows:
- Befriend Captain Sims inside of Wyndham Village’s Village Hall by snitching on one of the townsfolk to him – such as Morris Wick, Vicar McHenry, or Iris the baker. He will then give you passage to Skethermoor Prison to question Dr Garrow, meaning soldiers in the area will not become hostile to you.
- Collect the Crane Control Room Keycard in the Interchange and use it to move the shipment blocking the route to the Detention Quarter. This provides a quick passage to where Dr Garrow is being held, but you will need to find one of the two Signal Redirector tools in the game prior to unlock this route. One is found in the Windfall Shipment, while the other is inside Skethermoor Prison.
Once you’ve settled on exactly how you’re going to enter Skethermoor Prison, head inside to the Detention Quarter and speak with Dr Garrow in her cell. She’ll tell you about the Signal Redirector, and if you do not already have one from the Windfall Shipment mentioned earlier, you’ll find one on a shelf in the Security Storeroom of Skethermoor Prison instead.
You will then need to crawl into the Electricals room via a ledge inside of the Detention Quarter. Here, use the Signal Redirector on the power junction to gain access to the Control Room.

Inside, it’s simply a matter of pulling a lever to free all inmates – including Dr Garrow – and then you will want to quickly flee yourself. All soldiers will become hostile again now.
You can then find Dr Garrow inside the Central Processor of the Interchange, where she will task you with retrieving some notes from the lower level of Robotics for her. Robotics is accessed by restoring power to Data Store Charlie.
To then access the lower level, you must use the Signal Redirector on the power junctions inside of Robotics’ Power Control Beta Room and Robot Assembly Room respectively. These ultimately open the lower level door, and once down there, you’ll want to carefully avoid the robots monitoring the area while activating the three consoles here, and retrieving Dr Garrow’s notes.
Once that’s done, exit back into the Interchange and return Dr Garrow’s notes to her. She then has one more task for you, and that’s running the GEN ERA command on the command console inside of the Dam Data Store in Casterfell Woods. As a result, she hands over the Dam Data Store Keycard at last.

Now, inside the Dam Data Store, you’ll need to use the Signal Redirector to reroute power to the Control Room. Inside the Control Room, you can then use the Dam Data Store Keycard on the console here, which finally powers the command console in the middle of the facility (shown in the below image).

You can then run the GEN ERA command on the console before leaving and returning to Dr Garrow. That said, if you have advanced Joyce Tanner’s quest, she will radio you here, asking you to run the GEN MOVE command instead.
Whichever command you run will lock you out of the quest of whoever’s command you did not use. So, if you run Garrow’s command – GEN ERA –, you’ll find that Joyce Tanner will be hostile after this and vice versa, locking you out of one of the possible Atomfall endings.
