Atomfall has a few important items you need to keep a lookout for. For the most part, these are Atomic Batteries, but to actually place all of these batteries inside of the Interchange, you’re also going to need Strange Tonic. Strange Tonic allows you to keep the infection status effect at bay, which is necessary to access some areas in the game.
While some Strange Tonic can be found out in the wild much later in the game, you’re going to need to craft your own – using the Strange Tonic Recipe – long before then. To help you with this, here’s where to find the Strange Tonic Recipe in Atomfall.
Where to find the Strange Tonic Recipe in Atomfall
One of the earliest leads that mentions Strange Tonic in Atomfall is from Iris the baker, found inside the Bakery in Wyndham Village. When chatting to her, she’ll mention that her husband is sick and some strange potion – crafted by the mysterious Mother Jago in Casterfell Woods – is the only thing that helped with it.
With this lead, you can then go and track down Mother Jago (found in the north of Casterfell Woods, next to The Old Mine) and chat to her about her Strange Tonic Recipe, which she explains was stolen by Druids and taken to their castle inside of the Druid’s Camp. She’ll also request that you find her book there while you’re looking for the recipe.
Once you’re done talking to Mother Jago, make your way to the Druid’s Camp – pictured above – and enter their castle. Now, to actually get your hands on the Strange Tonic Recipe and other key items in this area – which include an Atomic Battery – you shouldn’t enter the Druid’s Castle via the front entrance.
Instead, you want to go left of the front entrance and south until you reach a side entrance that is illuminated with blue torches.
Just inside, you can take down the High Priestess and retrieve an Atomic Battery from beside her body.
Continue through the caves and deeper into the castle, where you’ll eventually come to a small room with a library to the left, and some stairs that lead to a shortcut to the castle’s front entrance.
In the library area, the Strange Tonic Recipe is found on a table to the left of the room, beside some bright purple spores in a dish.
