Where Winds Meet Mystic Arts Guide and Unlock locations

0

This guide contains everything you need to know about Mystic Arts in Where Winds Meet, including how to equip them, how to unlock more Mystic Art slots, and where to unlock new Mystic Arts for your character.

Mystic Arts are what makes Where Winds Meet Wuxia. These magical martial arts techniques have uses both inside and outside of combat, allowing you to not just stylishly defeat enemies, but also reveal hidden treasures and complete challenges and diversions throughout the massive open world.

However, as a young lord at the beginning of their journey, you must first gain enough worldly experience to unlock these different Mystic Arts. You can unlock a Mystic Art either by joining a Sect and learning their unique techniques, or by watching a master at work and performing a Skill Steal.

Most often, you can steal new Mystic Arts by taking inspiration from nature. Whether that’s a Tai Chi-wielding bear trying to knock a beehive down from a tree, or the furious flurry of an aggressive, honking goose.

How to use Mystic Arts in Where Winds Meet

Mystic Arts can be used both in and out of combat and are assigned to a different hot-wheel than your fully offensive-focused weapon arts.

To use a Mystic Art, press and hold the R2/RT button on your controller to open the wheel, then press the corresponding face button (Cross, Circle, Square, Triangle/A, B, X, Y) to perform the technique.

Once you have the second wheel of Mystic Art slots unlocked, you can swap between your first and second set of equipped Mystic Arts by pressing up and down on the d-pad/directional buttons.

Some Mystic Arts are “passive” which means they are always available and don’t need to be actively equipped. This includes abilities like the Touch of Death Stealth attack.

Flying movement abilities are also considered Mystic Arts. These are activated by holding the jump button, but you must satisfy an extra set of requirements to be able to fly (namely achieving Map Exploration Level 4 in a specific region).

How to equip Mystic Arts in Where Winds Meet

While it’s not immediately obvious, you can actually have as many as 8 Mystic Arts equipped at any time.

To equip new Mystic Art, go into your “Develop” Menu by pressing the options button and selecting it from the wheel, then select the Mystic Art option towards the bottom.

Inside this menu, you can select which Mystic Art you would like to equip in each slot.

How to unlock more Mystic Arts slots in Where Winds Meet

Just like you have to unlock Mystic Arts themselves, you need to develop your skills as a martial artist first to be able to wield many different types of techniques at the same time.

To unlock more Mystic Arts slots, you need to buy them from the character upgrade track using Talent Points.

The Talent Point track is also accessed from the “Develop” menu and you receive Talent Points by completing quests and open world diversions throughout Where Winds Meet.

As you progress through the Talent track, learning new skills and getting passive buffs, you also unlock more and more Mystic Arts slots periodically.

However, eventually you will hit a block on the Talent track where you will have to increase your World Tier before you can progress. This is because past a certain point there’s a max level cap on easier World Tiers. For example, some progress on the Talent track requires you to be at World Tier 3, which is only accessible at character level 20, and so on.

But, as you go further and further on your journey and become a stronger and stronger warrior, you will be able to gather enough Talent Points and reach a high enough level to have a maximum of 8 Mystic Arts unlocked at any one time.
