Portal Raider.io talked to the director World of Warcraft Jon Hazzikostas, and the future of the game. And especially he talked about the planned change in the context of the new approach to fractional division. After the events that were happened to the end of the war between the Horde and the Alliance, the developers introduced the possibility of a single game for representatives of the eternal warring factions. Players can now unify in groups and raids without a distinction between affiliations.

However, gems do not qualify for the Hall of Fame, because it is intended to reward guild achievement. But that will likely change as Blizzard will add the possibility of inter-factional guilds.

According to Hazzikostas, emergence of mixed guilds is a constant issue, and when this feature will be introduced, the only answer is when the unit is introduced. After that, the Hall of Fame is transferred to a universal system no matter whether factions depend on them, since the current division no longer makes sense.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is open now 29th November. This time the game starts right away: this is a test solution, and if it makes sense, it’ll be used in the future.
