The fearsome Lynel is one of the most terrifying enemies in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Boasting intimidating speed, incredible power and legendary toughness, taking down a Lynel is no easy task, even for the most prepared heroes of Hyrule.
As well as their arsenal of conventional weaponry, Lynels have the ability to destroy Zonai devices, impacting Link’s ability to escape from their malevolent clutches once he’s singled-out as prey.
But that’s not all. In Tears of the Kingdom, Lynels can also wear armour which needs to be stripped off with blunt weaponry before they can even be properly damaged.
Lynel come in red-maned, blue-maned, white-maned and silver-maned variants, all increasing in power with Silver Lynel being the strongest. However, if you have the stomach to take on a Lynel the rewards are truly worth the effort. As well as the high-quality weapons they wield, Lynels also drop a range of unique items, including guts and monster parts which vastly increase the effectiveness of elixirs as well as horns which turn into some of the most devastating weapon-toppers anywhere in Hyrule.
