ZZZ 1.7 banners see Vivian float in Mary Poppins-style, as Jane Doe and Lighter return
HoYoverse pulled the curtain back on ZZZ 1.7 banners during the RPG’s recent livestream, showcasing Vivian, Hugo, and two high-profile reruns. While ZZZ 1.6 saw Pulchra added to the mix, it’s just S-rank agents again for the upcoming version. They’re pretty big deals, too, with Lighter in particular being one of the game’s best-performing characters even several months after his debut.
Our ZZZ 1.7 banners guide breaks down who’s showing up in the next version and which A-rank characters will appear alongside them.
ZZZ 1.7 banners phase one – Vivian and Jane Doe
First up when ZZZ 1.7 goes live on April 23, 2025, or April 22 depending on your time zone, is newcomer Vivian, an anomaly agent, and the return of Jane Doe, another anomaly agent. Their signature W-Engines will feature in the limited weapon banners, and as ever, the S-rank agents have two A-rank agents joining them.
- Vivian (Ether, Anomaly)
- Jane Doe (Physical, Anomaly)
- Seth (Electric, Defense)
- Piper (Physical, Anomaly)
Vivian is a bit of a big deal for a few reasons. Her kit lets her attack while she’s not active on the field like Astra Yao, and she’s an Ether agent. Despite Ether being a prominent enemy weakness, ZZZ has just three other Ether characters – Nicole, Astra Yao, and Zhu Yuan – two of whom only appear in limited banners.
Jane Doe fell out of favor with the hardcore meta crowd in recent updates, as she requires near-constant anomaly buildup for her kit to work, but paired with someone like Miyabi, Burnice, Piper, or even Seth, you have a strong chance of keeping status effects active on the field.
ZZZ 1.7 banners phase two – Hugo and Lighter

The second round of banners goes up on May 14, 2025, with another new S-rank character and another S-rank rerun, plus two familiar A-ranks.
- Hugo (Ice, Attack)
- Lighter (Fire, Stun)
- Anton (Electric, Attack)
- Soukaku (Ice, Support)
Hugo deals exceptionally high amounts of damage to stunned enemies thanks to his core passive, but he’s also capable of dishing out quite a bit of ice damage even when enemies aren’t stunned. Lighter is one of ZZZ’s best stun agents as of version 1.6 and heading into 1.7, and his passive reduces enemy ice and fire resistances. Pairing him with Hugo is certainly a gacha thing to do, but it’s worth bearing in mind that both characters will have reruns sooner than later. Lighter himself first debuted just four months previously.
