ZZZ 2.0 banners add Rupture Agent Yixuan and a big hairy bear to the roster, with Caesar and Astra Yao making a comeback

HoYoverse announced the slate of ZZZ 2.0 banners during the ZZZ anniversary preview livestream, and it’s shaping up to be a stacked update. Three new characters push their way onto the stage, and two familiar faces are returning after a long hiatus. There’s also a new Bangboo to celebrate the siblings’ arrival on the Waifei Peninsula. While it’s not banner related, HoYoverse also announced an upgrade for Ellen, so if you recruited her from a previous banner, don’t count her out just yet.

Zenless Zone Zero 2.0 banners

ZZZ 2.0 banners phase one – Yixuan and Astra Yao

The first round of banners goes live with ZZZ 2.0’s launch on June 6, 2025, featuring newcomer Yixuan and the return of ZZZ’s best support character, Astra Yao.

• Pulchra (A-rank, Stun, Physical)
• Pan Yinhu (A-rank, Defense, Physical)

Yixuan is a big deal not just for being a new S-rank character, but for being the first in a completely new damage class, Rupture. Rupture agents ignore a set amount of an enemy’s defense and deal damage based on a new stat called Sheer Force. Sheer Force is calculated based on attack and HP, at least in Yixuan’s case. HoYoverse said she uses adrenaline in place of energy for her EX Special and has two different ultimate forms.

Astra Yao is an exceptionally useful support character who buffs attack just by existing and using quick swaps. Pulchra is an efficient Stun agent who can attack while off-field, and Pan Yinhu is a newcomer, a giant panda and a chef who keeps his allies safe with defense-oriented skills. Defenders like Seth and Ben tend to be much slower than others, which is an issue in Shiyu Defense modes where time matters. HoYoverse didn’t show how Pan Yinhu shakes things up, though, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

Also joining the lineup during the first round of banners is an S-rank Bangboo named Belion.

ZZZ 2.0 banners phase two – Ju Fufu and Caesar

Round two kicks off halfway through the version update and introduces another new S-rank agent, the tiger-like warrior Ju Fufu. Caesar, another defense agent and an exception to the “slow defender” rule, also makes a return.

• Ju Fufu (S-rank, Stun, Fire)
• Caesar (S-rank, Defense, Physical)
• Ben (A-rank, Defense, Fire)
• Corin (A-rank, Attack, Physical)

Ju Fufu has a bit of support built into her kit, as she her chain attack grants the party a crit damage buff. She can build and expend Might and Momentum stacks to deal physical and fire damage as well. Caesar keeps the party safe with a shield that stays active when she isn’t on the field and a passive that debuffs enemies.

Ben hits things really hard and tanks hits even harder, though he’s quite slow, and Corin has a buzzsaw built into her maid tools that benefits from repeated attacks. She’s also a free ZZZ character, so if you do get her in a banner pull, you should be able to activate at least her first Mindscape Cinema ability.
