ZZZ Soldier 0 Anby build and teams
A good ZZZ Soldier 0 Anby build relies a lot on lucky Drive Disc stat rolls, unless you’re able to get her signature W-Engine. Still, given how the new Anby’s power can scale off crit rate and crit damage, you’ll end up with a strong attack character regardless of which W-Engine you decide to go with. Better still, Soldier 0 Anby’s most potent support units are A-ranks and a character you might’ve already recruited for free.
Our ZZZ Soldier 0 Anby guide breaks down her best W-Engines and Drive Discs, with some Soldier 0 Anby team recommendations too.
ZZZ Soldier 0 Anby build
- Stack crit damage and, if possible, aftershock buffs
- Needs attack and support characters for to activate her bonus ability
- Priority given for teams built around Aftershock damage, which means Pulchra
ZZZ Soldier 0 Anby W-Engines
Anby’s core skill and passive mean she’s designed to buff the team’s and her own Aftershock damage, so it’s no surprise that her signature W-Engine, Severed Innocence, is her best pick. Severed Innocence increases the user’s crit damage by 30 percent, and when they deal damage with a basic or special attack or Aftershock damage, they get a buff stack that raises their crit damage by a further 10 percent. That buff stacks three times, meaning the W-Engine essentially gives you a 60 percent crit damage buff, assuming you can maintain uptime on the second buff, and that’s without considering the secondary stat’s additional crit damage. Having all three buff stacks also increases the equipping character’s electric damage by 20 percent.
Those are high numbers, and thie W-Engine covers all of Anby Solider 0’s needs. There’s no equivalent as of ZZZ 1.6, but you can still make a strong Anby Solider 0 without her signature. Soldier 11’s The Brimstone works effectively, though you’ll need to focus more heavily on increasing crit damage with Drive Discs. The Brimstone increases the user’s attack outright and then increases it again by three percent when they land a basic, dodge, or counter attack. That second buff can stack eight times.
You can use Harumasa’s Zanshin Herb Case if you have it to get its hefty crit damage buff, but the dash attack buff doesn’t do Soldier 0 Anby much good. The general idea as of Soldier 0 Anby’s debut is that the stat buffs are worth more than the bonus effects, given how high her crit rate and crit damage scaling can be. With that in mind, you might want to use Zhu Yuan’s Suppressor Mk VI or even Evelyn’s Heartstring Nocturne, if you have it.
Anton’s A-rank engine, Drill Rig – Red Axis, also has strong potential for Soldier 0 Anby. Drill Rig gives the user an energy regeneration buff – useful, given how Anby’s kit centers on her EX Special’s unique feature – and increases the user’s electric damage for basic and dash attacks by 50 percent after they use a special or EX Special.
Gilded Blossom is useful for a similar reason. It raises the equipping character’s attack by six percent and increases the user’s EX Special damage by 15 percent. You might also have some luck with Cannon Rotor, which raises th euser’s crit rate and attack, and then when they land a critical hit, it deals an extra attack equal to 200 percent of the character’s attack.
For B-rank options, you’d want to opt for [Lunar] Noviluna or [Lunar] Pleniluna. The former restores energy for the user when they use an EX Special and comes with a crit rate buff, and the latter increases basic, dash, and dodge counter damage by 12 percent.
ZZZ Soldier 0 Anby Drive Discs
ZZZ 1.6 introduces a new Drive Disc set called Shadow Harmony that’s designed for Soldier 0 Anby, along with any character who relies on dash damage or Aftershock damage.
- Two-piece effect: Increases dash attack and Aftershock damage by 10 percent
- Four-piece effect: After landing a hit with Aftershock or a dash attack that aligns with the equipping character’s element, the user gets a stack of a buff that raises their attack and crit rate by four percent. They can hold three stacks of that buff for a total of 12 percent extra crit rate and 12 percent extra attack

If you’re struggling to give Soldier 0 Anby enough crit damage, the best complement for this set is two pieces of Branch and Blade Song, which gives her a 16 percent crit damage increase.
If not that, you could also opt for:
- Thunder Metal two-piece: 10 percent extra electric damage
- Puffer Electro two-piece: Extra six percent PEN ratio
Alternatively, you could swap Shadow Harmony for Woodpecker Electro, the standard set for most DPS and attack characters.
- Two-piece effect: Increases crit rate by eight percent
- Four-piece effect: Landing a critical hit with an EX Special, basic attack, or dodge counter increases the user’s attack by nine percent for six seconds, and each attack type has its own buff duration
ZZZ Soldier 0 Anby stats
Soldier 0 Anby benefits the most from crit rate and crit damage, thanks to her core passive, but like any attack character, she also needs attack and PEN ratio to help take out tough foes faster. Still, given how her core passive centers on buffing critical damage specifically, you want to focus on those the most.
- Slot 1: HP
- Slot 2: Attack
- Slot 3: Defense
- Slot 4: Crit rate or crit damage
- Slot 5: Attack percent or electric damage
- Slot 6: Attack percent

ZZZ Soldier 0 Anby skill priority
Soldier 0 Anby’s damage mostly comes from her special and basic attacks, so those should be your priority. Her chain attack is most important after that, and then you’re free to invest materials in her dodge or assist as you see fit.
- Core passive
- Special
- Basic
- Chain attack
- Assist
- Dodge
ZZZ Soldier 0 Anby teams
Soldier 0 Anby needs a stun or support character in her team to activate her bonus ability, and unlike a lot of bonus abilities that are just nice to have, this one makes building Anby easier. It increases her crit rate 10 percent and raises the party’s Aftershock damage against enemies she marks by 25 percent.
One possible team is:
- Soldier 0 Anby
- Pulchra
- Nicole
Pulchra helps amplify Aftershock damage as well, which makes Soldier 0 Anby hit even harder. Nicole is always useful for shredding enemy defenses and grouping enemies together, which is helpful for Soldier 0 Anby, since her area-of-effect is a bit small compared to some other attackers.

You could also opt for:
Rina keeps enemies shocked and raises PEN Ratio, and Astra Yao buffs everyone’s damage while being a reliable source of Ether damage herself. Lucy makes a good substitute if you don’t have Astra Yao.
And Soldier 0 Anby’s F2P team is:
Regular Anby might not be fashionable in the meta, but she still excels at stunning enemies quickly.
What tier is Soldier 0 Anby?
Soldier 0 Anby has the misfortune of debuting right after Harumasa, another capable Electric attack character – and a free one, at that – but she’s still a powerful attacker in her own right. Her general damage output is a bit lower than some, which prompted moaning among those who only want the strongest characters ever, all the time, but her potential for scaling with crit rate and crit damage and the potential for even more damage thanks to Aftershock make her highly competitive in endgame battles.
The only real downside is that, as is a trend with recent ZZZ characters, Soldier 0 Anby has few W-Engine choices outside her signature that meet more than one of her needs effectively. That’s really just for meta purposes, though, as you can still see good results with the ones we listed above.
So, TL;DR, Soldier 0 Anby goes in the S-tier of our ZZZ tier list.
