Best Battlefield 6 SGX Loadouts for early and mid-game MP

0

Like the M433 Assault Rifle, the SGX SMG is also immediately available to use in Battlefield 6. As an SMG, it is of course a Signature Weapon for the Engineer, but if you’re playing an Open Weapons Playlist, you can use it with any class.

The SGX is a little weak compared to other starting options, but it will serve you well until you can upgrade to something a little more specialised – especially with the right combination of attachments.

As a reminder, most weapons in Battlefield 6 have 100 points that you can spend on their attachments. You don’t have to equip something in every slot, but you won’t be able to go over that budget.

Weapons take a little too long to level up anyway, so that’s not a problem you’re likely to run into for quite a while. As always, quickly jumping into the Firing Range is a great idea to get a feel for any build.

Now, to get you back on the ground, here are our recommendations for the best SGX loadouts in Battlefield 6.

What makes this the best BF6 SGX loadout for early-game MP?

This is the SGX build you’ll likely be sticking with for most of your time using it, as you may find yourself tempted to upgrade to a better option when you level up a bit. As an Engineer, you’re going to spend most of your time exposed since you’ll be repairing vehicles, setting up mines and generally being easy to spot.

This build leans into that, and ensures you deal a lot of damage when you have to engage infantry. We’re sticking with the Iron Sights here because they’re enough for the close-range encounters you’ll mostly find yourself in. The SGX isn’t suited for longer-range combat because of its bouncy recoil and low damage, so we don’t need to stretch it beyond its limits.

This is why we’re also keeping the standard 6” barrel, because anything shorter and you may as well be tickling the enemy, and the single other option for a longer barrel only really improves bullet velocity, something we again don’t have to worry about with this particular setup.

The 50 MW Green Laser is a bit of a bold choice here because it’s always visible, but man does it offer a solid boost to hipfire accuracy – which you’ll be doing a lot of with this build. Considering the SGX’s rate-of-fire, we’re going to need a bigger magazine, which is why we’re going with the 36RND option.

The Ribbed Stubby Grip will counteract some of our lower ADS speeds, while also reducing recoil across the board. Likewise, the Single-Port Brake will further compensate for recoil – and its hit to sway won’t really affect us given the ranges we’re sticking to with this build.

Best SGX loadout for the mid-game

  • Optic: RO-M 1.75X (10P)
  • Top Accessory: 5 MW Red Laser (10P)
  • Barrel: Extended 8” (15P)
  • Muzzle: Flash Hider (10P)
  • Underbarrel: Stippled Stubby (35P)
  • Magazine: 30RND Fast Mag (10P)
  • Ammunition: Standard FMJ (5P)

What makes this the best BF6 SGX loadout for mid-game MP?

This loadout is designed to take the maximum effective range of the SGX as far as it would go, even if that’s not much in itself. The RO-M 1.75X sight and 8” Barrel should give you an idea of where we’re going with this. Indeed, we wouldn’t use any sight with a higher magnification on the SGX regardless.

While the Extended Barrel will increase our muzzle velocity and range, the Flash Hider will help keep us somewhat hidden on the minimap – thanks to reduced spotting range – not to mention remove 3D spotting.

The Stippled Stubby Grip is really what makes this build work, because it significantly reduces recoil – something you’re going to really feel with the SGX, especially given the sight we’re using. It also makes our ADS speed incredibly fast.

With how much we’re compensating for the SGX’s shortcomings with this build, we’re going to splurge a bit and go with the 30RND Fast Mag to speed up reload speeds without worrying too much about the hit to our overall speed.
