“This is our Spider-Man 3” – Soulfame’s Warsong update adds “edgelord” progression path, with rideable mounts and “vegan” fishing coming soon
Digital Extremes has revealed a lenghty new gameplay trailer for its fantasy action game Soulframe. It’s next major update – Warsong – adds a new quest. It’ll also come with rideable mounts and “vegan” fishing.
The Warsong Fable features Ben Starr taking the role as Tempest Bayor, the main antagonist for the quest. In it, the player gets some insight into their character’s tragic past growing up in the world of Soulframe, the nature of their blue-armed Envoy powers, and a look at how the Ode (the bad guys) live up in the clouds.
In addition, Warsong is bringing with it the corrupted Vadagar pact. Pacts are in simple terms classes in Soulframe, and this one comes with dastardly abilities and new virtues aligned with the Ode’s deities: Wrath, Doom, and Death. The Vadagar pact was described as an “edgelord pact” during the live panel at Tennocon, with the wider update summed up as: “our Spider-Man 3 for Soulframe,” in a press preview prior to the event.
Then there are mounts! According to the Soulframe developers, this is a feature that has been sorely sought after by Soulframe players. Players will be able to ride giant wolves and a corrupted horse, with the Soulframe team emphasising more will come to the game in the future.
Finally, Soulframe will be receiving a “vegan” fishing mini-game. It’s dubbed as such because the fish you catch are released back into the water, in alignment with the nature preservation themes present in the game. Who doesn’t like fishing in their MMO?
The quest, as well as ridable mounts, will be added to Soulframe some time this “Fallish”. Those interested in trying the game out can sign up for the ongoing Preludes test. If you do so before the 12th July, you’ll be guaranteed access for the current build and beyond.
There’s still no release date for Soulframe’s 1.0 release, as it continues its journey through closed beta. Still, the game has continued to recieve plenty of substantial updates since its reveal. Here’s hoping a 1.0 launch isn’t too far away.
