Gossips in Heartopia are mini-quests that occasionally populate somewhat randomly, but seem to have a higher chance of cropping up after you complete a regular daily request for the quest giver. Most of them are very straightforward to complete, but some – like Annie’s A Perfect Puzzle Night – are leaving players stumped.

How to complete A Perfect Puzzle Night in Heartopia
Annie mentions wanting treats for her pet cats to keep them occupied while she does puzzles, and your only clue is that you need 10 of something to give the cats as snacks (and that they don’t like sardines any more). Depending on the contents of your inventory, you might see this bar is already partway filled, but unless you want to go through a rigorous trial-and-error process, that’s not much help.
The reward listed for the quest is fish jerky, a cat treat, but this is not the item you need to give – which many players have found to their dismay only after forking out for 10 bags of the stuff. Annie herself isn’t coughing up any clues either – in fact, until you have all 10 of the necessary items in your inventory, you can’t even re-trigger the Perfect Puzzle Night quest dialogue with her, which is unusual (and possibly a glitch).
Luckily, we can confirm that the items needed to submit to Annie and complete this gossip quest are 10 meats purchased from Massimo’s cooking store. (Many thanks are due to Reddit user r/Carmen_V_S for their help figuring that out!)
That’s right: none of the actual cat treats in the game satisfy the conditions, nor do any fish you’ve caught. It has to be 10 pieces of meat from Massimo.
Give these to Annie and she’ll reward you with five bags of fish jerky cat treats that, let’s be honest, probably weren’t all the hassle you went through. But at least it’s cleared that pesky task from your journal now!
