F2P Guide to Clearing Nightmare 3-6 to 3-9 (Level 50)
This guide is intended for free-to-play and low-spending players using a level 50 Ranger, Priest, and Sorcerer. If you’re stuck on Nightmare 3-6 through 3-9, this strategy can help you clear the stages without buying expensive endgame gear.
The Problem
I was hard-stuck on Nightmare 3-6 because my Priest kept wasting Sanctuary by casting it at the wrong time or walking out of it immediately.
Even with 68% Fire Resistance, the Priest still died too often, making the run inconsistent. Instead of investing more resources into survivability, I changed my strategy completely.
The Solution
Rather than trying to keep the entire party alive, I invested almost everything into my Ranger and cleared the stages mostly solo. As a free-to-play player, I only used relatively inexpensive gear.
Ranger Build
Weapon
Use Minor Amethyst for the Physical Damage bonus. This is one of the biggest damage increases available for a Ranger.
Armor
I moved my Priest’s armor over to the Ranger. The armor was already upgraded with Minor Rubies for additional resistances.
Accessories
Accessory 1
- Prioritize HP.
- Extra health helps prevent getting one-shot.
Accessory 2
Life Leech provides enough sustain to recover health while fighting and makes the strategy much more consistent.
General Strategy
Your Ranger should be able to clear roughly 60–100% of each stage alone. If your Ranger isn’t quite strong enough, take advantage of the Deploy mechanic.
Instead of deploying your entire team immediately, wait until you’re close to failing the run. A good timing is around 50%–80% progress, depending on the stage.
Deploy your Priest and Sorcerer only when additional support is actually needed.
Stage Guide
Nightmare 3-6
Your Ranger should be able to clear almost the entire stage solo. Deploy your Priest near the end so she can tank the boss.
Nightmare 3-7
Use the same strategy as 3-6. The Ranger should handle most of the stage alone, with the Priest deployed for the boss if necessary.
Nightmare 3-8
Again, follow the same strategy. The only major threat is the Ice enemy. As long as its attack doesn’t one-shot your Ranger, the stage is very manageable.
Nightmare 3-9
The overall strategy remains the same. This is the hardest stage of the group, so you’ll likely need your full team. Deploy everyone at around 80% progress to help finish the encounter safely.
Don’t Get Discouraged
You may still fail once or twice. That’s normal. At this point in progression, your options are either:
- Keep trying with good execution.
- Spend a large amount of gold on high-tier weapons and armor.
Personally, I don’t recommend buying expensive gear right now, as market prices are currently around three times higher than normal due to the marketplace being closed.
Patience is usually the better investment.
